    Which one? (Spoiler-tagged, of course.)
This is what I think is going to happen. Right now, all the salt and nerd rage is like what we'd see had the internet existed in the days that The Empire Strikes Back had been made.

A not-so-wild-guess: Leia flying in space like Superman. :)

I'm afraid it may be the contrary.
Once you know how the story goes, the surprise effect is gone...
And since there is not an emotional playoff comparable to that of ESB the movie may become boring.

One day after, it grew in me the bad way.

I didn't like it to be honest.

    Lack of depth.

I don't care about Ep IX at the moment.

Because I'm a fanboy and you can give me even the Freemakers, I watch it with a smile. Here, I felt I've seen a Marvel, not a Star Wars.

When I left yesterday, I was still in Star Wars so I overestimaded the movie but now, truth is that I don't care that much for Ep IX ...
When Phasma, Snoke died, you don't give a damn because you don't know where they come from, it's hello / goodbye ... The scene of space Leia was just ridiculous, it completely put me out of the Star Wars universe.
It's not a good sign when the best arc of your movie is the one of Poe Dameron.

Let's say the movie is definitely not a retread of ESB (or any other SW movie). This movie is different. Some fans will be disappointed.

Comparing it to ESB is silly. It should compared against TFA. ESB is not the gold standard and I'm never gonna get why it gets thrown around like it does.

I agree with you. 100% and that was one of the several expectations people had when watching TLJ. ESB this and ESB that and then it b*tchslap back on their face lol.

I tried comparing it to TFA and then I realised that JJ and RJ is just teaming up. They are playing exquisite corpse. Both films are still SW but very different.

I didn't love it. But I liked it. It was better than prequels and better and worse than TFA in many ways. But most of all, it was different. Which was what TLJ needed to be.

For a second I thought you'd called JJ and RJ gravdieggers! (Metaphorically, not of the franchise-I don't think that).

    You're 100% right tho!

I watched the midnight launch in Australia a few days ago.. honestly so, so disappointed and just want to make sure other big fans temper their own expectations. the film absolutely is shot well, directed well, etc. but it BADLY screws our favourite heroes and even most of the villains. i went to the midnihgt launch for TFA and as i said for this one too, but i wont be doing it for IX - ill see the film of course, but im afraid its lost its impact on me. very, very disappointed and agree with Marvel-ised comments regarding this film (and tbh, it was there in TFA too, all those QUIPS!! -_-)

I don’t ever really pay attention to critic scores, but I do (occasionally) pay attention to audience scores.

And just as evidence of how divisive this film currently is: The Last Jedi has an audience score of 56%, despite having a 93% critic score.

This is the lowest audience score a live-action Star Wars film has on RT, with Attack of the Clones sitting just above it on 57%. Contrast that with Rogue One’s 87%, or The Force Awakens’ 88%.

I said that it would be divisive. I didn’t for a second think that it would be this divisive.

This could totally be a case of a very vocal group disappointed with the film pulling it down, but it does make one wonder.

Well it's clear then. It must be the worst movie of all time now. Sarcasm

You don’t think that it’s the worst movie of all time?! I find your lack of a lack of faith disturbing...

And it’s okay @Mr Hux, I knew what @Bluemilk was getting at :)
