Now we know what Luke was wanting those power converts from Tashi Station for: shock therapy.

The Emperor was merely his therapist trying to shock Luke back to reality in ROTJ, but Vader like most parents intervenes in therapy when it gets uncomfortable for their child.

 

George using too much cgi was one of the main criticisms of the PT. The CGI in the PT doesn't even hold up today standards, it looks horrible and my 4k tv makes it look even worse. I guarentee you that 10 years from now, the ST will still hold up. It's sad that Battlefront 2 has clone troopers and droids that look better than their movie counterpart. At least we got real troopers in the ST, there's none in the PT. Despite it faults, TLJ is one of the most beautifully shot SW film to date. Sure I wish the ST had more creativity but I also understand why Disney went with the safe route. Even more reason why I can't wait until we get past the ST.

Ohhhh there's a history alright. Do some research on his podcast, and its drama.

 

A few months ago, I copied and pasted the text of an MSW article and a mod put the text underneath a spoiler. I accepted the reasoning for that - makes total sense. Anyway folks were asking me why I was pasting the text and not given the link. This meltdown he's had today, shows why I did it. I've been here since 2014, I remeber the days Jason was on here as a poster. The guy has an ego problem, so no this is not new. He really upset a lot of posters on here with his rudeness and arrogance and some posters don't like his site. The sad thing is, he does get a lot right, he's a genuine source that's why I paste text and not his links. So I still take notice of what he's says but he's not the nicest of persons.

 

He's making money essentially on having a source. There's nothing special about what he does. If anything he should be humble.

 

I think when you look at the third films of the previous trilogies you really see the effects of that era hit their peak - without getting into the weeds of all the CGI debate in the PT, the effects in ROTS were a real step up in many areas (the opening battle over Coruscant still looks fantastic to me, not just because of the CG quality but anyway...) and the Battle of Endor still holds up as one of the finest examples of composited, motion-controlled model sequences ever IMHO.

In that context, given the quality of effects in the ST so far I am really looking forward to seeing if TRoS can make that leap to the ‘next level’ that I think the previous trilogies did in their third episode.

I like to think of the OT as the revolution in motion-controlled model-work, the PT as the evolution in CGI and the ST (if TRoS achieves the same advance) perhaps as a solution in ‘refinement’ of everything that came before. Which could (possibly) neatly apply to the story too.

 

I could prove some things about JW that would really make you mad, but I won't.

If you only knew his real dark side. I'll just leave it at that.

From TROS first trailer and D23, it appears there will be at least two duels (minmum) between Rey and Kylo Ren:

One is a duel near a seaside with the waves flying up over Rey ans Kylo.

Second is Tatooine or Jakku, where Rey faces him and his Tie Fighter and the KOR.

I am glad we are going to get some epic duels in this Final Chapter of the Skywalker Saga.

I don’t see Rey killing Kylo so I am skeptical

 

Most movies with CGI from 15-20 years ago (if that) don’t stand up. But if the excuse for refusing to make the planets, etc. exotic and unique is because the effects will be out dated in few years- then you should get out of the the movie making business. There are ways to augment the new planets with CGI to make them distinct and alien, which other talented filmmakers can pull off with ease but somehow dumbfounds Abrams & Lucasfilm. And making the point that TLJ was ‘beautifully’ shot is moot since the end result was banal and uninspired. I’ll go with Lucas’ visionary and creative brilliance over planet ‘Bahamas’ or planet ‘Grand Canyon’ any day. After all, this is science fiction- the space opera kind, NOT National Geographic. Suffice to say, the ST by and large creatively bankrupt.
