    It isn't.

    Yes, unfortunately.

I have mentioned this before, but We Got This Covered has been directly called out for their BS rumormongering by name - on a publicly available recording - by author and Star Wars superfan Bryan Young, co-host of the Full of Sith podcast and contributor to StarWars.Com, so anything that they say needs to be immediately dismissed as tabloid trash created solely to generate clicks.

I wonder if something like this, if not this exactly, will actually happen. Just because rebuilding the blue saber back to almost exactly the same as it was before is so anticlimactic.

Me when it was destroyed in TLJ: Holy cannoli! Did they just destroy Luke's old saber?! Wow!

Me when I saw it rebuilt in TROS trailers: Oh, it's back the way it was. Is that an extra band around the middle? Huh.....

It seems like stuff is done in the ST arbitrarily. Threepio has a red arm. Oh, it's gold now. Luke/Rey saber is destroyed. Oh, it's fixed. Threepio had different colored coverings before but it wasn't so obvious and not pointed out in dialog. I wonder why bother destroying the saber if it's just fixed in the next movie. Maybe there's some story to it, who knows? I guess with so many complaints about the ST mimicking the OT, maybe fixing the broken one was done intentionally to NOT be like Luke building his own. Next month, we learn!

I agree with everything you said.

Why Rey doesn’t build her own unique saber is odd. All true Jedi must build their own lightsaber:

    8FC63040-8488-4BB4-8453-13FAF43170B1.gif

I am going to go out on a limb and say if Anakin/Luke’s blue saber is totally restored as seen in TRoS trailers it will have slight different design:

    A524EEC0-2EB9-45C9-BF6E-F94B18976DC9.jpeg

Notice the real big difference between EpIII and IV-IX hilt is where the gold part is and button which is gold on EpIII but silver in rest of the films.

Why do they do this? So you will have to buy a new one. Same for Threepio having red arm or silver plating; so you buy another.

They will probably like you said add one new bolt or detail to Rey’s TRoS saber so it will warrenr buying a new lightsaber.

I am suprised they sisn’t add an insignia and letters SC for Supreme Commander on the Kylo Ren Crossguard saber toys for TRoS so you wpuld have to buy it again.

I haven't seen a close up, but I thought I did see a slight variation around the middle of Rey's saber. I really hate that this would be done for toy sales. Maybe it's not, but if it is, it's a waste of a cool story element.

I don't know why they did this, but the ROTS saber is a machined prop made from scratch. ANH and TESB saber is a Graflex 3 cell flash post with bits and pieces attached. They made the ROTS prop look very shiny and polished with gold hardware and some other differences. It's like making a continuity error on purpose, when you didn't have to. Could be toy sales I suppose. Just weird though.

Maybe with are combined searches we can find a close up of Rey’s lightsaber hilt in TRoS.

I agree its a strange continuity problem for no reason. I did like Anakin’s Episode II AOTC hilt because it harkened to his Vader ESB hilt:

Woah! AOTC saber does look very much like Vader hilt! I never noticed it! (red)

AOTC Anakin’s hilt is my favorite. Sadly it is hard to find now. I wish I had gotten the FX when it was available.

I can see why it would be rare. It's got to be one of the least seen in the movies. I can only remember him using it very briefly with the poisonous worms in Padme's apartment and the Tuskens on Tatooine before it's destroyed on Geonosis. Did he use it other than those instances? The one after that is so famous I think his first is forgotten.

In literature it is famous and technically the ROTS to TRoS hilt is it with some changes; the pummel and bottom handle are similiar:

    Second Saber

    24B6BCF5-FC0E-4054-A587-5AB4B37C4C3C.png
    First Saber

Technically its the same lightsaber, the more famous second saber removes the black bar in the middle, and the pointed part at the top of the hilt were the blade comes out it rounded because it got cut in off:

So the second saber, what Anakin/Vader uses in ROTS and Luke/Rey use later, is supposed to be the same saber that was cut in half on Geonisis, but has been repaired? I always thought he built a new one from scratch but I don't actually have any source for that; I just assumed it.

Exactly, Anakin repaired his damaged first saber and modified it to be the legendary saber of IV-VIII. The rebuklt saber is then torn in two again in TLJ. Rey will repair it again, a symbol she is the female Skywalker Chosen One of this story; the real heir of Skywalker: Rise of Skywalker.

An interesting observation, which would confirm a certain piece of the rumored leaks...

Naomi Ackie: "I've come in at the end, so I think, knowing the story anyway, I was blown away by the ending. It's what I would have wanted to see, personally. I think it's definitely crossing the line, it's not predictable and it challenges you and makes you question some of the characters' motives, everyone has real personal stakes in this film that goes beyond the dynamics and our relationships. This is bigger than all of us. It was amazing actually." (SciFiNow Magazine Issue 165)

It could mean Palps, but I don't know if the creators of this movie know how lightning works. Lightning ALWAYS strikes from the ground up. So...

The previous pictures I posted were of the actual prop. These, I believe, are replicas being made by enthusiasts.

It is different, especially the circular ring above the pummel with the black rubber vertical strips.

Way different at the ignition switch! It has brownish copper look around the gold this time.

I got the impression that the brown/copper might be leather.
