That makes sense, but I’ve been reading things from a lot of folks who are convinced what Crosshair saying is true… Maybe because he did have that head injury/burn.
Interesting, regardless. I kind of like not knowing whether his choices are free or not.

You hit the nail on the head. I was definitely underwhelmed with the finale but appreciated the moments we got. Really episodes 15 and 16 should have been released at the same time like the used to do for Rebels. The 2 episodes are too intertwined and watching them together may have offset episode 16's lack of plot. Definitely appreciated Crosshair's character development as that was the focus of the episode other than the escape. You know when Crosshair saves the team again it will feel earned.

Nala Se is clearly working with the Empire's cloning scientists.

    Potential clones:
    • Grogu / Yoda Clones
    • Whatever is being cloned in the Mandalorian Cloning Facility / Precursor to Snoke
    • Palpatine Clones
    • Other clone troopers - In the Original Battlefront Games (now legends), the Empire decided to continue creating clones using other people's DNA besides Jango Fett. It does not appear this show is going that route as they are already are introducing stormtroopers but it's a possibility.

I agree, but I also think it is very easy to point the finger. This show is formatted in a very similar structure to how Star Wars Rebels started out. Season one and the first half of season two of Rebels had a bunch of filler episodes that did not drive plot as well. The same can even be said for the Mandalorian. This is nothing new to Star Wars shows.

The key to me is the pre-credits teaser at the end of the episode. The fact that the empire is introducing its own cloning facilities will really shake up the show. There are hints throughout the series that include characters like Boba Fett popping up at some point. The Rebel alliance, Ahsoka, The Ghost crew, and more are all possibilities. The fact that the show is already greenlit for season 2 tells me this show will be as big if not bigger than its predecessors - even if it was meant to be a smaller show.

One thing I forgot to mention earlier- I get that she's part of what's supposed to be the heart and soul of the show, but she never really charmed me like a character like Hondo ever did. Honestly, I just kinda got demotivated to even watch an episode when it opened at her shop. Not to mention I really disliked this portrayal of Ord Mantell- I know it's silly, but I prefer it as a giant literal trash planet, lol. If there's a city planet or two, surely it makes sense that one is basically all garbage too.

    Agreed on this, as well.

Even with my problems with how the fall of Kamino was demonstrated, episode 15 was definitely good for how... bombastic it was.

And I enjoyed the quieter, more contemplative atmosphere of episode 16. A lot, actually. But it was a strange choice for a finale that stands on its own.

Releasing them both at the same time would've made a ton more sense.

i have this same sentiment too. I honestly felt the 2nd part was pointless and could of been included in the part 1. By the end of season 1 of TCW and Rebels, we have an genral idea where the series going to do, I still don’t know where this series is supposed to be heading or the point of it. Maybe I’m being a bit harsh but I’ll put this series on par as The Resistance show just without the “goofiness”

Crosshair kind of annoyed me with him being the last person to move. It reminds me of when you play a video game where you do a side quest for a NPC and they tag along but either get in your way, or refuses to follow you after you cleared an area.

i find this series underwhelming so far. Hopefully season 2 will be more structured.

Finally watched the last two episodes of TBB. Good stories, but not the best episodes of the season; fair enough, endings are very hard to do.

I did NOT see everybody getting through the season as even remotely likely; it'll be interesting to see what happens next season. They've really cemented the broken-family trope with the BB now, so that's going to be a throughline for at least the next season, but at some point, these guys HAVE to start getting killed off. Very cool how they gave Kamino, and that chapter of the cloning venture, a big send-off; I really liked that. Also, I was ready to murder someone when Azi sank; again, I did NOT foresee Omega going after him, but I love her so much more for it. Cool save by Crosshair.

Overall, this season has been consistently quite good, with moments of greatness. It's impossible to judge by a single season of course, but if they keep this up, TBB is definitelly going to take the top spot of the best SW animated series thus far.

Ohh, interesting. I did not pick up on that. Thanks.

It does seem like it might be a bit redundant if both The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch end up covering the cloning project storyline, but ultimately I'm just curious to know more about what exactly the Empire is up to with it, and so I'm looking forward to learning more about it regardless.

If I think of The Bad Batch as TCW S8, it’s ‘just’ another great season. If I think of it as a new animated series in its own right, it’s got to be the most impressive first season of an animated Star Wars show so far I think - and when I think about how much TCW and Rebels and even Resistance improved as they went along, that is an exciting prospect to me.

I think the finale eps were very good, considering we know we are getting a second season. I will agree that they would seem a little underwhelming if we did not know that we were getting a second season.

I love then show overall, certainly more than I thought I would when the TCW S7 eps were all we’d seen of The Bad Batch. I guess Omega is a big part of the difference, but also I think it’s just spending more time with the characters and becoming more invested in them. Which is also why I don’t really subscribe to the notion of there being any ‘filler’ (a term I am not a big fan of even at the most appropriate times tbh) episodes - I think there was valuable content throughout, whether it was emotional and/or character and/or world building and/or contextual/pacing in nature.

Very much looking forward to a second season to see where they go with it all. Great job Lucasfilm, Jennifer Corbett and everyone else involved!

One thing I hadn't commented on yet was how great it was to see...
Cad Bane again. I was already a Cad Bane fan as it is and so I was definitely pleased with that. Although I notice it was implied with his headpiece that his duel with Boba Fett still happened. I can understand at this point if Disney wants to move on from The Clone Wars, but still, it does give off a "missing pieces" sort of vibe to it. At the very least, I hope they go back and fill in the details of the Bane/Boba duel sometime.

    Enjoyed the season finale.

Whether or not that mountain at the end will be called Mount Tantiss, I think it's obviously taken inspiration from it. Wonder how involved Palpatine is with this secret Imperial outpost?
Seems like next season is setting up for conflicts between the bad batch and the clone commandos.
The stuff with Crosshair at the end of the ep was good and sets up for more conflict next season. This is not the last of the drama we see between Crosshair and the bad batch I'm guessing.

I gotta admit, that might be more optimistic than I feel.

I have a bad feeling this cloning project is just a sort of backdrop for Vague Dark Bidding by Bad Guys™ that loosely ties together various eras (Bad Batch, Mando, The Rise of Skywalker). Something like Palpatine's Observatories in the Aftermath trilogy and Battlefront II- heavily alluding to some big dark plan that just kinda becomes a formless mush.

    I hope I'm wrong, though.

Honestly, I haven't been paying attention to how may episodes there were going to be in this season and had no clue while watching ep 16 that it was the finale. It didn't "land" like a season finale for me. I've watched and enjoyed thus far, but don't find myself as invested as I was with Rebels or TCW.

    Wow, I couldn't disagree more.

The last two episodes were easily the best for me in an otherwise mediocre series. The series was consistently quite boring, with moments of cringe. And it's Clone Wars>Rebels>Bad Batch for me. Bad Batch is proof Dave Filoni ran out of freshness and is three or four seasons behind his expiration date. He's still pretty good but nowhere near the brilliance he brought to TCW.

But I'm glad you enjoyed the series and hope the new content in the next few years brings you even more reasons to be a Star Wars fan :)

I really liked, Ep.2 - Cut and Run; Cut Lawquane is one of my favorite clones and this episode had some real emotional weight to it.

Ep.3 - Replacements was another one I really dug, and which most people didn't care for, it seems. The juxtaposition of BB/Clone Troopers vs. Stormtroopers was interesting to me, and the character work was also quite good here.

Ep. 8 - Reunion, however, was probably my favorite. This episode was even more beautiful than the other ones, and with strong action & drama and great problem-solving; great 'acting', too, with great characters demonstrating presence and charm.

Overall, a very good serving of Star Wars, I though! :)

^All three of those are among my favourites too. :) "Reunion" in particular may be my favourite episode of the season.

This was confusing to me as well. And if enhancing the chips worked, why not do it to all the clones? A literal army of millions of Boba Fetts' running around, following orders to a T. If I was Sith Lord, that would have been the exact army I wanted. Backfill the army with the TK's.
EDIT: Apparently the creators/writers have confirmed that he in fact did take the chip out, which makes him all-the-way villain imo.

Overall, I thought the show as ok, my kids said the same thing. Though my 15 year old said there were too many fillers. I like being able to fill in blank spots in Star Wars history, so seeing how it was after Order 66 makes it interesting to me.

Scorch in Ep. 14 and Mt. Tantiss/Weyland at the end was very cool. I will guess it will relate Grogu somehow or Thrawn. It almost feels like we are getting into the Thrawn Trilogy, or at least Filoni's version of it.
