Yes, Dark Disciple is canon. (I haven't read it myself but I hear it's supposedly one of the very best)

Yes, Dark Disciple is easily one of the best canon books. Just a shame the original TCW arc was never finished, maybe one day...

Yep. And in fact, Dark Disciple was adapted from eight unproduced episodes of TCW. :) I agree with MandoChip in that I do wish we could've seen the original version of the arc. But still, it is a great book.
When you put it like that, the whole Siege of Mandalore and that ending scene with Vader; there really wasn't a better way they could have ended the show. Still, I wish they could've stuck to their original 8-season plan. I'm definitely happy the show got revived at all, but then it seemed like it was over too soon. Perhaps they could've adapted a few more of the lost arcs into Season 7, and then Season 8 could've been the real finale. I would've been cool with that even if it meant pushing The Bad Batch back by a year.

Yeah I see your point. Any new CW arc would have been fine with me too to be honest

If you do try to read it, definitely let us know your thoughts! I adored the book, but one of my best friends could barely get past the first two chapters.

    One day...

The new poster is a nice thrownback to the Struzan format used for the movie artwork

Got to admit I was bit skeptical when they announced Bad Batch. While I love the clone war the clone centric episodes were never my favourite. And while the bad batch episodes in the last series of clone wars were fine, they were not the stand out of that series. So a whole series based on these characters didn’t have me on the edge of my seat.
But if the rest of the series is near the quality of Aftermath then I am very happy to say I was wrong. That episode was so much fun.

I mostly enjoyed Aftermath. I do have to say that there have already been a lot of stories about squadrons of four or five that have the leader, the nerdy one, the mindless destroyer, and other similar tropes, and there have also already been a lot of stories about clones. But still, they did a decent job with character development, and it was exciting overall.

I liked the connections to characters we already know, such as Kanan, Saw Gerrera, Palpatine, and Lama Su, although I’m disappointed that they didn’t get Anthony Phelan or Forest Whitaker. They did get Freddie Prinze Jr. though. They did list Ian McDiarmid as Palpatine, but I think they might have just reused audio from ROTS.

Fred Prinze Jr as little Kanan/Caleb just doesn't work at all for me, and I really think they should've chosen another Master & Apprentice rather than tying in a story that we already know, there are thousands of Jedi but it just so happens to be Depa & Kanan who cross paths with TBB, Fallen Order did it well.

I didn't mind the Rebels tie-in, but I have to say if the plot had called for yet another padawan to escape Order 66 while his master died, I would have been quite annoyed that they couldn't think of a new plot device. :p

Fun episode. Kinda feels like star wars g.i. joes! I actually appreciate and like the team all being badass, hardened and serious soldiers
that even Tech is well balanced.

I like Omega better than I thought I would and am very curious about her back story.

I have been trying to figure out who...
the death jedi is we see on Kamino (the one who drops his/her lightsaber), but based on some screenshots I have made I would say it is probably not Shaak Ti. The lightsaber model and skin colour (which is green) do not match Shaak Ti. Curious who we actually do see there.

I'll start by saying this wasn't the highest on my "most anticipated" list, but as always, Filoni roped me in.

SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT, SPOILER ALERT LOL
Well said with the “cinematography” of the show. Especially with all the fighting that did take place, it might have been difficult to portray the action in an effective yet interesting way. Really cool fighting due to the amazing animation. So well said there. In addition, personally, I always love seeing some of the events of ROTS play out in this perspective. Palpatine’s speech, order 66, and even certain callbacks or references. I like when new perspectives are added because it adds a new layer of understanding that us SW fans can look at. It also proves how different and unique the BB is. So yeah, love what I saw here in BB

    Have added Spoiler tags

It couldn’t be Shaak Ti anyway because I’m pretty sure her canon death is at the hands of Anakin/Vader on Coruscant. That’s what Season Six implies anyway.
Anyway, this episode really won me over to the characters and show. I guess it shouldn’t be too much of a shock because I love the animated Star Wars shows (TCW, Rebels, GoA and I enjoy parts of Resistance.)

I don’t really have any complaints, outside of the somewhat-significant retcon at the very start of the episode. (If you know, you know.) I loved seeing a few brief clips from ROTS recreated in TCW animation style intro, similar to what they did in the Siege of Mandalore arc. Give me more of that please! I’m also very excited to see where the characters and story go from here. This show arguably has more freedom to go anywhere than any of the Star Wars shows have had so far.

Ah, yeah. You are totally right about that.

Meanwhile I have been looking for a green coloured alien Jedi (even though the skin could be green because of him/her being death). Luminara was killed on Kashyyyk, but her lightsaber does not match. Same goes for Barriss Offee, who might have died by then anyway. It could also have been Rig Nema, who was the Jedi Consular who did the health check-ups on Yoda in the Lost Missions episodes. Her last known whereabouts are that she was on Coruscant, but with her medical background perhaps she replaced Shaak Ti when she left Kamino. However, also her lightsabar does not match the one we see in Bad Batch. The search continues, haha, but it might very well be a new jedi to us.
