I sort of agree. I don’t want this show to go in the bounty hunter direction either. After all, thats why we have mando. And yeah, planet to planet stuff will get repetitive after a while. Personally, I have no idea where I want this show to go in, but i love it nonetheless. Its cool to see the young empire and how people are dealing with it. Im still wondering when we will see rex and see saw Gerrera again.

I watched episode 5 and for me it was a meh.
Let's say that for me Omega and Bib Fortuna save the episode which otherwise I would have hardly enjoy. The episode 5 looked to me similar to some episodes in The Mandalorian. Go to a place or planet, find an object or a person, go back and receive an item or information as a reward.

Definitely the element I appreciated most about this episode was the focus on the associative impact of Imperial rule. The evil of the Empire wasn’t just limited to what they themselves personally did, but also what they allowed to happen. The Jedi and Republic had ended that slave trade. Now that they’re gone, it’s business as usual again for the worst part of society that will cause endless suffering and misery for countless innocent people. I’m glad that’s being touched on. Even when they’re not specifically the villains, they’re villainy is still an influence.

This, with the previous episode, has done more to solidify the cast as distinct personalities instead of vague caricatures with one defining trait. Especially for the Echo character who’s mostly been a nonentity so far. He’s the group’s conscience. Their moral compass. Because of his own personal trauma, he’s uniquely sympathetic to the plight of those being victimized. I finally have an entry point for this goof.

The show is taking advantage of a 16 episode season and spending the time with more insubstantial interludes to inform us of character disposition. So when the plot and its incidents starts to kick in, we have valuable insight into how each player sees things. It’ll matter more because we’ll be able to put ourselves in their shoes. I’m looking forward to that.

Excellent! The Empire has this implied meaning of suffering and the exploitation of people and what people produce. Im not sure “implied meaning” was a great choice of words but I don’t know what to say lol. We saw this in Rebels and now again in BB. The Empire are the bad guys. They do bad, but they support and endorse bad people too. Great post!

I'm happier with this series at this point in the run than any of the previous animated shows.

None of the characters are super annoying and they aren't making Omega a serial, self inflicted damsel all the time.

I think binging and limited series has developed a "where is this going?" mentality that makes anything episodic "filler" but then I'm totally fine with Star Wars A Team with some funky arcs thrown in here and there while giving us a "street level" view of the transition from the Republic to the Empire.

I don't need them to have somewhere particular to go really, there is a lot of space to meander. There is probably some endgame but I'm not in need of seeing it.

So far so good for me. At this point Resistance had already about lost me and I was toughing out Clone Wars and Rebels. Especially Clone Wars, the whole first season is straight work give or take a few episodes.

So will Wrecker be turning by the end of the season? The stuff with his headaches seems to be building up and most likely his chip is involved. Hunter is Omega's father figure while Wrecker is like a big brother brother or cool uncle and so I have the feeling there will be drama going on soon between Wrecker and the bad batch and Omega, which will be full of feels.

I only expect it to happen for an episode or two but I just think a big sad moment is coming up for Wrecker than just usual loveable big dumb goof

Wow! That is a good point, mate! I just thought his head-issues to be a flavor of his sweet über-violent boy-uncle character, but having him -- the badest of the bad -- flip on the rest at some point would be master level subversion of expection and bring a LOT of drama and gravitas to the show. Oh man, that could be intense!

It would break Omega's heart and devastate the team by losing Wrecker too and it would hit us in the feels! I still think it would be temporarily for just a few episodes but still

It will be OK, Rex will then show up to help him probably alongside Wolffe and maybe Gregor.

Well yeah, like I said it would likely just be temporarily for some episodes and then back to normal but still sad as it happens. The characters wouldn't know exactly how to help and how long it would take

The reason Tech couldn’t fix the ship back in ep3 was because he was soooooooo busy making a chip finder. Three episodes later and still no chip finder. Must be super tricky :D

And maybe we will be give info on why and how those three ended up on that planet in rebels, isolated and far away. I love it when shows connect the dots on a storyline.

    BB ep. 5 - Rampage

Not a filler episode, but somewhat of a day-in-the-life-of, which is fine. Cid was pretty cool, and I'm surprised with the range of Trandoshans seen in SW animation; SW is typically very stereotypical, but Trandoshans comes in all types and shapes :)

I also very much appreciate the Zygerrians return, a great bad-guy faction with much agency and potential.

Omega displays her intuition again, and I love how matter-of-factly her enhancement ability is displayed.

All in all, a fun episode that introduces new kinks and takes time to explore the galaxy a little. I also think that the way LFL spends time setting up Fennec Shand means there's more to her than "just" being a high-end bounty hunter. There's something important for the plot tied into her character, I'm sure. (My guess, she doesn't work for the Imps, but rather someone else who wants their hands on Omega... like Nala Se.

Yup. Those guys know how to remove the chip!

They’ll be involved in moving chips somehow. If not for wrecker, maybe that will be how cross hair is redeemed?

I hope the kaminoans will be on the protagonist side of things as these events unfold. After all, remember when they were helping Omega earlier in the show? Im pretty sure it has something to do with a control or whatever. They might help with the chips too.

The Editorial piece about this show from today echoes a lot of what I've said on this very thread. Where we differ right now is that I'm not willing to condemn TBB for being a Mandalorian 2.0 just yet; I'm also a fan of the art style, but I do acknowledge what the author is going for. I'll be keeping an eye on it, but we're not even halfway in. Things could very well change. (To his credit, the author of the article does mention this at the end.)

But his line about echoing and mimicking...that's some truth right there.

(It's too late for that though...)

Wow, they went to Corellia and resisted the urge to bring in preteen Han or Qi'ra. Good for them :)

A lot of sneaky callbacks/easter eggs in this one. Hammerhead wearing his action figure onesie was funny. The cargo ship they road in on was one we've seen from Rebels. Carbon freeze chamber sounds effects in the melting plant. The police droids' language used phrases we heard from droids in Jabba' s palace and on Bespin. And of course the familiar empirial alarm that's been used in all kinds of stuff. Fun episode. Interested to see which familiar face the hologram'd figure is at the end.

Cool episode. A bit filler-y in that the mission wasn't part of the clones or Omega's plot, but it did introduce new characters. I liked it :) Also, Cid is awesome and Wrecker was pretty funny in this one.

Shout-out to @Mando LXXXV. Your theory looks very likely at this point!

So, who do we think the Martez' sisters' contact was? The sisters refer to their contact as "he" (unless I totally misunderstood something), so it isn't Ahsoka. Some random dude? Bail Organa? A Mandalorian friend of Bo-Katan? What am I missing here?
