The first five minutes of episode 1 were interesting and kinda cool, but after that I caught myself being bored. Something is missing. The launch episode of 'The Mandalorian' was way better.

    Things I liked:
    - the first 5 minutes
    - the Tusken Raider lore

    My dislikes:
    - the show's look. Sometimes it looks good and cinematic (the flashback scenes), but it mostly looks cheap. It looks too clean, maybe grain is missing.
    - the sound design. There were too much impact sounds. It almost felt like a comic book- *punch*, *peng*, *bang*
    - the dialogue and also the acting.

Just watched the first episode. This really was a weak one.
The Parkour scene could have been cool. You know like the one in James Bond Casino Royal. But no. Just two random guys and Wen's stunt double doing some boring moves.

And for crying out loud- they should really do some new Jaws voice overs. It's just silly that they're re using the ones from ANH over and over again.

I really liked the episode. It wasn't as flashy as The Mandalorian but it didn't needed to be.
I really liked spaghetti western vibe and all the flashback scenes, especially with Tuscan raiders. More insight into their culture is always welcome, I liked when Boba called the kid 'youngling'. What the F was that creature? I've never seen it before. Legends?

In the 'present', it is clear that Boba is still finding his footing. I liked the fight with the 'shields' and Fennec Shand's parkour scene (and casually chucking a guy of the roof). Also, justice for Gamorrean guards! They proved loyal. The Mayor and his flunkey are going down for sure. I love seeing arrogant bite the dust.

Without other episodes to compare this one with, I'll give an episode a solid 7, definite call upon seeing all of them. The episode made me smile. It confirmed what I have always known, Jawas are little shits.

Also, Ludwig Göransson did not disappoint.

Well, I am part of these guys who stilll don't have an account to D+...

So, I would applause if that present thread would remain SPOILER FREE, for the guys like me.
In parallel, as it was the case for the Mando, there could be one thread for each episode, those threads being full of spoilers and revelations and discussions about what really and actually happens in the episode. So the guiys like me would safely avoid these, and wouldnn't be spoiled.

    DEAR CANTINA USERS,
IS IT POSSIBLE THAT WE ALL AGREE TO KEEP THIS TOPIC "General The Book of Boba Fett talk" ABSOLUTELY SPOILER FREE ?

We probably are not so numerous, to love SW and did not subscribe to D+
I hope you'll have mercy on us.... :) thank you all

It has been created with the spoiler stick on it. Hope all users who have seen it will go there to talk about every chapter.
I assume every chapter will have its own thread.

Hope you will watch it soon!

    Cheers!

    Yes.

Since this thread has no red "SPOILER" pre-fix on its title, anything from the episodes will need to be spoiler-tagged appropriately. I'm going to add some to the discussion above just to be safe,

Here is the link to the spoiler thread for the first chapter.

    https://thecantina.starwarsnewsnet....bobf-ep-1-a-stranger-in-a-strange-land.62894/

We'll make sure one is created for each episode as they air. Since this thread *does* have the red spoiler prefix, posts within that thread do not need spoiler tags for any content that has already been released.

No harm done here, this is just a general FYI on spoiler-tag protocol. Thanks all!

I don't care about reviews but it's cool that season 1 is critically successful! It scored 85% on rotten tomatoes with 82% in audience score so far.

    https://www.rottentomatoes.com/tv/the_book_of_boba_fett/s01

The Mandalorian got 93% for S1 with an 92% audience score and 94% with an 90% audience score for S2 though

I don't post that much as I used to, definitely would not have happened using my old mobile, because it really was an expert when it comes to star wars terminology...the new one not so much

With major sequnces in this chapter featuring desert (daytime and nighttime) it was never going to be.

    :) :) :)

I think the composer is Joseph Shirley using Ludwig Goransson's themes. But whomever is responsible, I loved the final theme that ended the episode!

Jon Favreau is directing next so you guys will have to come up with a different punching bag for Episode 2. :)

I can appreciate the episode for what it was, I think it really nailed the feel of Tatooine.

From the moment I heard about it, I always thought this series was unnecessary - I think Boba's appearance in The Mandalorian was impactful enough - adding to his mythos and character. I think people are on the money when they say we might have Tatooine fatigue by the time Kenobi rolls around, I hope I'm wrong! Deffo happy to find out about Mos Espa's seedy underbelly though! I will always consume any Star Wars media, so even an average show is more than good enough for me.

One of GL's original inspirations for Star Wars that Jon Favreau has enthusiastically embraced for his Disney+ shows is the old Saturday afternoon movie serials that used to play in the theatres prior to the feature presentation back when George was a kid.

These shows (Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, the Lone Ranger, the Shadow, etc.) were given 'chapter' titles and featured short, 5-10 minutes installments to a summer-long story. Each mini-show usually ended with a thrilling cliff-hanger, a shocking appearance, or a dramatic moment (sound familiar?) :)

While its natural to want to judge each 'chapter' individually, the reality is that you'll have to see the complete TBOBF story before you can accurately assess how well the individual parts worked. So, IMHO, it's WAY too early to opine on whether the series was 'necessary' or not until we've see how these seven episodes ultimately play out.

The buzz is that this show sets the stage for The Mandalorian Season 3 so if you're a big Mando & Grogu fan, this show is 'necessary' regardless of your feelings about Boba Fett.

Yeah, and each episode of Boba Fett has the runtime of 39 -50 minutes!? I guess that's why this one felt like it had an unnecessary length.

I hope the episode for Kenobi are actually at least 40 minutes long, but 40 minutes with content!
