Unnecessary length? You're certainly entitled to your opinion but most fans thought it was way too short. :) ;)

I don't know where you got your "39-50 minutes runtimes" but for the record, we've had exactly one episode to this point which clocked in at 33 minutes & 45 seconds (plus 4 minutes-plus worth of end credits.)

One of the characteristics of Favreau-produced SW shows is that he keeps his story and the action on-point.

That's your opinion. Imo the episode could have used some tweaking. Nevertheless I'm looking forward to the next one.

Everything I post is just my opinion. Everybody's entitled to one. :)

Do I think Episode 1 was the best written and directed SW show ever? Nope, not even close. But, after numerous viewings, I found I enjoyed the Tusken Raider storyline more and more. It had a quiet and slow pace to it that I think was off-putting to some fans -- including me on first viewing. But I believe it was a deliberate choice by the creative team which was designed to emphasize Boba's 'stranger in a strange land' experiences.

    Me too!!!! :) :) :)

I didn't really care about the first episode, but I'm still going to watch the second episode and I'm hoping I will like this one more. But if not, then it will be hard to continue this show. Mando Season 2 was already hard to finish, but it's SW and I love SW. Haha!

As a big SW fan, one of the things that I noticed beginning with Season 2 of The Mandalorian -- and now again with this BoBF series -- is the 'communal' expeience these weekly episodes create when we're all watching them together for the first time.

Long before the streaming services began giving us TV shows in one big, binge-watching season, we had network TV that gave us weekly episodes of their shows. But back in those days, most of those shows didn't have the same effect because: 1) the showrunners were forced to produce so many damn episodes per season that the quality and creativity suffered; and 2) we didn't have social media to instantly connect with one another.

Nowadays, our joy in watching a new episodic, Star Wars series is heightened, thanks to the internet, especially places like The Cantina. Not only do we get the excitement and anticipation of watching a brand-new episode each week together, we then get to turn around and discuss every aspect of it with our equally-fanatical friends here. In addition to viewing each episode as many times as we want, whenever we want, some of us also enjoy soaking up the excitement and joy which comes from watching episode reaction videos made by other SW fanatics on YouTube.

All of this crazy fan stuff comes together to enhance the overall fun and enjoyment we experience from the series. I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm enjoying being a part of The Cantina's TB0BF community!!!

And the best part is this seven-week ride has barely started! :D :D :D

I would expect the excitement level will be higher than TBoBF. However, it will be superceded by the fanatic feverpitch we'll be at for The Mandalorian Season 3 and Ahsoka. It's a good time to be a SW fan. :)

Could anyone here have imagined THIS LEVEL of SW excitement and anticipation following the films, TLJ and TROS?

    For myself? Probably not.

I was actually just thinking the other day that after TFA and Rogue One I was like running on 100% Star Wars hype.
By TLJ, it was probably down to more like 75%.
With Mando and Fallen Order, it got up to maybe like 85%, but dropped back down to like 20% after TROS.
Ever since, it's been like <5%.

Fett is getting me interested again... but I'd say I still have a long way to go. And I really long for the day when the general public is back to that 100% of TFA opening night, too. What a time!

All I say in my opition, It okay and it just two episodes it just starting. I heard it got bad reviews and people watching it, is that just some people? Hope season will go great in next episodes. And some people don't want his helmet off, Is Mandalorian different? cos he had his helmet off few episodes.

Do this show need something make it special or popular like Grogu in The Mandalorian, someone told me that The Mandalorian reach non-Star Wars fans, as the Boba Fett show for Star Wars or Boba Fett fans.

Yeah, we live in the age of griping being cool, putting stuff down making people feeling smart and important, and complaining being the first reaction to everything. The show is doing fine and is a good watch; lots of lovely Star Wars to enjoy, there. And for what it's worth (which, admittedly isn't much), TBoBF is doing very well on Rotten Tomatoes (86% as of right now) and IMDB (8.1). Go watch it, Adam. It's fun! :D

I honestly don't see what people are complaining about. I love Star Wars in this format, even if it doesn't hit the heights of The Mandalorian (which also took a while to get going). Can only echo the sentiments of @Darth Derringer - I love the communal feeling an episodic format brings. I just love the expansion, I love seeing the day to day lives of little Star Wars civilians - as opposed to huge decisive moments deciding the course of history. I always wanted to be in this universe, these series further allow me to live that dream!

I get why some aren't liking the show much and so I don't have issues with someone not being into it as I am but what does annoy and gets to me are ones who get too critical, hyperbolic and negative! Just seems so try hard to hate and put the show down and especially multiple times each week!

Whatever though, as the sayings goes.. "to each their own" and "one's trash is another's treasure"!

That is exactly why art or film is considered subjective. I can walk into a museum and say thats a beautiful painting or sculpture while someone else might see it as an awful one. Someone can dislike something for something that doesn't bother you at all (flashbacks). Don't let someone ruin your excitement for something. Life is too short to be grumpy all the time. Find something you love and enjoy life. I personally don't waste my valuable time on something I dislike, I rather consume my life with things I enjoy, but thats just me, to each their own. If you dislike something then its not for you... may the force be with you always. :D

Let's get back on topic, deeply sorry for that, discuss the topic at hand not the poster.

    Cheers,
    The Rogue

    Question for you all:

Is this show affecting the way you watch Attack of the Clones?

The more time we spend with the Tuskens, the harder it gets to still root for Anakin after he murders a whole Tusken village

Like, it was always a horrendous thing for Anakin to do. But the Tuskens at that point still seemed . . . inhuman?

But between Mando and Boba Fett, they're really driving home the connection between the Tuskens and real-world indigenous peoples. Which I think is a great development.

But now, when watching the prequels, it feels like Anakin's fall has really been completed by the end of AotC. We know the people be slaughtered now. How do we then watch the whole Clone Wars series and still cheer for this guy?
