    Bizarre and borderline offensive way to explain it, imo. Nobody has profited more from whoring out his "kids" than Lucas has. I mean Star Wars was plastered on everything form Dixie cups to Underoos well before Disney came along. Not to mention he invented the merchandising nightmare. Is he just regretting his decision?

    George has a right to his opinion, but he should educate himself on what 'slaver' really means. Also, I object to 'Star Wars’ came from nowhere'.

    I think he is just angry that he doesn't own Star Wars anymore and that this trilogy will make more money than any of his films did.

    He does have a right to opinion, I just think this is a very bizarre thing for him to say. And yes his franchise came from a multitude of other sources, he can't forget that.

    He became what he rebelled against in the early 70's, a commercial corporation. Then he sold out to the biggest of them. No sympathy from me. ;)

    @Tervlon It would appear that way. In some ways I am starting to...well, cease holding him in such high regard. He is not coming across as an adult but rather like a complaining teenager (his alter ego, Anakin?).

    This is what happens when you create quite possibly what is the single biggest franchise, he knew this was coming, if he is raging about the fact he no longer owns Star Wars he should never have sold it in the first place.

    @duckface He is really out there with some of his comments in this interview. He is really antagonistic about the awards and talks about Soviet films over and over. He even tries to equate the Politburo's censorship and propaganda requirements as less severe than Hollywood's demand to make a buck. Let's see movies like Apocalypse Now and Platoon get made in Soviet Russia...

    He's already starting to contradict himself a lot.
    And taking subtle jabs. and passive-aggressive tendencies are showing though.

    In this interview he said he liked that star wars was popular, and said "why make movies if no one is gonna watch them?"
    Then says he is gonna make films that no one will ever see.

    Y'all, is george okay? Should we start worrying about him?

    I remember when he said he was gonna make films just for him and a close group of people at the WP for TFA, I think it's just the fact he no longer owns the franchise and quite possibly regrets selling it, since TFA will probably top any of his films in terms of dollars.

    Lucas is getting weirder with every new interview it seems. I don't know what to think about it, but I know what I feel - it's sadness. I'm sad that he ended up like that - a bitter old man who first sold his franchise and then is raging that he does not control it anymore. George, please, you did what you did. Go spend that mountain of $$$ you have and stop whining. TFA alone is better than whole PT together. And maybe that's what making you feel bad and is causing this whole whining.

    He should just give up, it is obvious he stopped really caring about the franchise when he made the PT and announcing to the world Jar Jar was his favorite character and how Jar Jar was the "key to all of this".

    He will pay the price for his lack of vision.
