Maybe we aren't talking from the same interview, but this isn't exactly what he said. I have the exact quote taken from the video, "That's crazy that's the first time I've seen her like that and I was actually supposed to come on set while she was dressed like that and I didn't get a chance. So I'm seeing it for the first time with just the full look, she looks very evil. It's a mad plot point for the movie so, you know bringing out all the cards on this one"

 

The only real sizzle outside of the OT, PT footage was Rey and Kylo dueling on the structure with the water flowing around them. That looked like it had potential. Everything else were pretty 'meh'. Even the last little double bladed lightsaber dark side Rey thing didn't really do anything for me with the awkward handle flipping action. A straight double blade ignition similar to Darth Maul in the Ep 1 trailer would have been more smooth and sinister.

 

The dual on the DS2 wreckage,and the water smashing up against it,looks fkn EPIC!!!
It will be the rhyme to ROTS Mustafar dual no doubts!
From the small footage I've seen,I am now in hype mode!
The music in the trailer and subsequent footage nails home to me how much I love Star Wars as a whole.
Without the amazing visuals and JW soundtrack throughout my 43 years,I cannot imagine life.

I loved the trailer, but this is hilarious!

 

Just wondering if TROS will be more beautiful than TFA and TLJ, visually.

 

Maybe the VFXs of this shot aren't finished yet, but Kylo has no cape in the water reflection.

 

I'm having a hard time believing that this isn't something more than just a force vision, but I think the primary thing driving that is just simply that I would like to give Lucasfilm the benefit of the doubt. They've been purposely misdirecting us in the promotional material for this entire trilogy, and it finally caught up to them after TLJ was released. A lot of people were not only upset that what was "promised" wasn't delivered, but also because to those same people, what was delivered was inferior to what was "promised". After the trailer and TV spots for TLJ, here we are AGAIN being teased with Dark Side Rey. If this doesn't lead to anything significant, and let's be honest, a vision or something ala Luke on Dagobah is not going to be enough for a lot of people, it's only going to add on to the backlash. I can't see Lucasfilm doing that or wanting that, especially not for the final film in this saga. But if I'm wrong, even I, as someone who has adored this trilogy up to this point would have to wonder if Lucasfilm is actively trying to make their fanbase hate them.

 

Wow, you eyes are better than mine ! I'm always impressed with people who notice that kind of things.

 

Fans of this SAGA notice every thing.

 

The cinematography has been great on all of them, but I bet the really want to take it up a notch for this one.

 

I don't see the correlation. Just because he was supposed to be there, doesn't mean it's a short sequence.

 

Get ready for the Holdo maneuver, big strike incoming.

I think the question could be: will Disney allow to turn into evil a one beloved character by thousands of young girls who dress like her and see in Rey a real hero and a fighter?
Maybe that would be brave enough for most demanding fans

 

I don't like how "jerky" this lightsaber is when it opens. I'm not too worried though, because i doubt that exact image will even be in the movie.




What we see in The Force Awakens is different from first images we saw of Kylo igniting his saber:




Not saying we won't see Rey with that saber at all, just the final look we get could be a little different.

Just my guess on the subject, I think it's definitely misdirection of some sort, part of the hype. I don't mind at all. Mission accomplished! Can't wait!
