I just rewatched the first real TFA trailer. I had totally forgotten the part "The force is strong in MY FAMILY"

My father has it, I have it, my sister has it... and YOU HAVE THAT POWER TOO.

Most of us kinda forgot that piece of dialogue.

Isn't it an obvious reason to think Rey's part of Luke's family ? What else could this be ?

Do you guys think we could hear that piece of dialogue between Luke and Rey somewhere in TLJ ??

my father was a wheelwright, my grandfather was a wheelwright.
me and my brothers all make wheels for a living.
i'm going to teach you how to make wheels too.
    1. you don't need to be blood-related to make wheels.
    2. what if Luke isn't even addressing Rey in the trailer?
    3. i don't think anybody has forgotten this because i feel like we've been discussing it endlessly for the past 13 months (or longer!) ~ hahaha
nothing is as "obvious" as people think it is.
also, i doubt we'll actually hear that soundbite in the ST ~ it's just a trailer tease.

But why that quote ? Who else could it be intended to ? It's a movie about Rey.

Of course, if I can build tables, like my father and my sister, you can also build a table even if your not a part of my family.
But why using that formulation then ? Everything is so calculated and thought out in those clips. It's the only piece of dialogue we hear. It cannot just be for someone random. Using the "family" thing.

It could also refer to Ben Solo. Unlikely but who knows. Maybe it was just a marketing strategy.

it's calculated to make you ask the question. it actually reveals nothing. it's deliberately ambiguous.
and i wouldn't bet all my money just yet on the ST only being about Rey.

For my part it makes the ST much stronger for Rey to be a Skywalker/Solo. This is the Skywalker saga after all. That being said the "trendy" thing to do is to do the opposite of what most people want. We shall see how it unfolds.

I haven't forgotten it. The question is did the marketing team that made the trailer know details for future films or just recycle Luke's dialog from Return of the Jedi as a nice head fake since he wasn't in The Force Awakens. I'm going with the head fake because the team making trailers isn't in the business of giving away clues.

People seem to always ignore that Kylo Ren is a Skywalker/Solo

Lets just see how the story plays out, either way there are three Skywalkers still alive going into The Last Jedi
