Hey as long as you enjoy the movie I guess that's all that matters. And no you are not alone. Have you read the other comments? haha

I'm going blind, what I don't know won't hurt me.

My take on it is that I've basically read so much of the supposed "spoilers" that I don't even have the supposed storyline clear in my head. Anything that was correct will still surprise me to an extent in this case, and even some of the larger rumors/spoilers we've heard didn't seem too surprising to me when I heard them. Even that big one, you know.

So I think I'll fare well, and certainly still be able to enjoy myself. Heck, I can still enjoy the Star Wars movies I've seen a million times, and I still get chills at key moments like Vader's revelation to Luke, and the like. So somewhat vaguely having and idea about something shouldn't mess up the experience too much, for me at least.

For me, its a rational choice.

I value my years of time spent here analyzing and overanalyzing and speculating more than I value the initial viewing. So, I choose to embrace the spoilers.

I also will agree with @jmjawors. When I really care about a movie, I don't like the experience of going in unaware. It makes me nervous. I don't want to spend the entire movie judging how it is being received or delivered. I want my first viewing to be me experiencing the film without judgment. On movies like this, I try to just experience it the first time and analyze on subsequent viewings. If I analyze too much the first time out I find my mind wanders and I get caught up in things like nitpicking editing choices or poor line readings and minutiae like that.

For movies I don't obsess over I like to go in blind. But not star wars. Give me as much info as possible and then let me enjoy the experience of seeing how these ideas were executed when I get to the theater. In that way, its almost like I'm part of the production process. Following from idea to screen and I find I'm more invested in the outcome.

I'm trying to avoid the reading of posibles entire plot/stories spoilers. But I don't care to see pictures, concept arts or characters names revealed (actually I'm looking for these ones!...hahaha).

In the days of the Holonet(see what I did there*akward *)it's difficult to stay away from spoilers. The people that go ,,blind" ...I can't believe you did it :D. I personally wouldn't have found this site if I wasn't LOOKING for spoilers/plot ,,leaks/concept art/news/interaction with other fellow SW fans. I thought about it before I started to read articles on this site:do I REALLY want to spoil the suprise? This is probably the ONLY movie I'm going to see this year in the cinema. A franchise I love so much,it would be impossible to withstand from reading spoilers cause the confirmed/offficial news we get on rare occasions. I read spoilers(all forms,on SW7News and MSW) and I'm happy I do so :D

Actually,to think of it once more,IMO most of the spoilers are fake(just as I'm presumed dead,I'm the Emperor for gosh sake,I don't die*looks at the EU *). Still remember the first few spoilers from early 2014.. Adam Driver a hot-shot pilot who turns to the dark side, the lightsaber from space(ah,the memories).

If I had to make a choice again,I would have done the same:read the spoilers.

I'm not avoiding spoilers, but I'm not actively seeking out every one either. I'm treating my approach to TFA as ride. I want to enjoy the ride getting to the movie as much as possible, so that in the event that the actual movie isn't as good as I hope (or think it's turning out to be) I've still had a good time on the ride.

For me, there are so many rumors flying about (even it some items seem to be coalescing onto one idea) that part of the fun is reading all the rumors and trying to guess for myself what the film's going to end up being. Sure I may not be "surprised" exactly when I see the film for the first time, but as long as I don't have an officially verified Lucasfilm synopsis in my hands, there's always some question as to the validity of anything I've heard, and I can still enjoy it as a distinct "first time" experience.

I want to know anything that will be publicly available before opening night as soon as I can. Like trailers, images of toys, posters. I don't care if they come out earlier than they were supposed to come out. I'm cool knowing anything Lucasfilm has divulged to Entertainment Weekly, Empire, etc. I'll read all those articles.

On the other hand, anything Disney doesn't want me to know, I do my best not to find out. I try to tiptoe around in here to make sure that doesn't happen, and so far, its gone pretty well.

    I prefer going in blind.

The Feeling of experiencing something completely new satisfies me.
I hardly watch any Trailer though, so it's not something limited to Star Wars (chopper)
