I'd give the trailer an A. It appears like we're getting a different star wars film, it just looks different.
Luke appears to be done with the Jedi and telling Rey "The Jedi must end". Luke seems to know now there is more than the dark side and the light, that it's "so much bigger" and Rey appears to be going strong in her training. I suspect Kylo is either full dark side now or almost fully dark side. Looks like we're going to get more Captain Phasma and I'm surprised they didn't have any of the new three, Maz Kanata OR Snoke in the Teaser.

Overall, I'm excited about the movie.

I loved everything except "ending the Jedi." I found that line so shark jumpingly terrifying that I have been unsettled for days.

    I know I have issues;)

    B.
As I said before the most interesting thing about the trailer is that they didn show too much. Less is better in my opinion.
I am already satisfied with the incredible poster.

I felt the same towards the Teaser. At first I wanted more, but now that I've had time to let it sink in, I think it was a perfect appetizer.

I assume we get another Trailer in the summer and then the full blown trailer in October?

I have to say I'm surprised at many fans ripping this teaser as it's almost to the point where some people just can't enjoy anything associated with SW anymore. The whole Trilogy is a bonus so just enjoy it!

I give this trailer an A, for the reason that I've seen some give it a B or even a C: it didn't show that much. Honestly, I don't want to see too much of TLJ in these teasers and trailers (and I'll be avoiding TV Spots like the plague) before I see the film for myself.

I mean, I'm not even sure what to think anymore. My predictions for trailer and information reveals have been up to par so far with regards to TLJ (title revealed a few weeks before Super Bowl; first teaser release at SWCO), but my other predictions regarding trailers were D23 and, of course, in October, when ticket sales will likely start. However, there's a lot going around this time that I think have muddied those waters quite a bit.

For one, the Han Solo standalone film has to hit D23 with at least a teaser if they are indeed still planning for a May 2018 release (if not, and they're still planning a May 2018 release, I don't see where it's coming: this film requires much longer than a saga film in regards to marketing, and starting it around the time of TLJ being released is far too late), and so releasing a TLJ second teaser here would do nothing but overshadow the Han Solo movie. Kathleen Kennedy has also hinted during a recent interview with MTV News that the announcement of the next Star Wars standalone film would be coming this summer, and D23 is the logical place for this information to drop.

San Diego Comic Con, I believe, is scheduled a week or two before D23, and I don't think something as major as a TLJ trailer will be dropped here either: I think they'll go the route they did at SDCC 2015 and drop a BTS reel during this convention.

So, where does one drop, if at all, this summer? As far as I'm aware, there aren't any major international sporting events on the horizon, so honestly - unless, against all logic, they do decide to drop one at one of the aforementioned conventions, or just randomly drop it (though I don't think they've done that yet with any SW marketing since Disney bought LFL) - I don't think we'll be seeing a teaser this summer.

Actually, I think it's possible that we don't see anything until the full trailer drops in October when ticket sales start. For one, the teaser trailer we just got felt much, much more like the TFA SWCA 2015 teaser trailer than the TFA Thanksgiving teaser in regards to how it was cut and any hints towards the story this time around. Something else to note, though, is that I don't think we should - yet - compare the TLJ marketing plan to RO, as, of course, the saga films and standalone films are entirely different in outreach due to the cultural impact of previous saga entries. If we go about comparing the TLJ marketing schedule to that of TFA, then, our first teaser trailer dropped at SWC in April once again, but where was the teaser before this? Well, I hate to suggest this, but i think it's absolutely possible that the end of TFA was a tease for TLJ (with Luke not saying anything, just staring off at Rey and his old lightsaber), and, logically speaking, would have a much larger audience than a teaser might have had (considering the BO performance of TFA, for one), meaning that "casual" SW fans were more than likely hooked to watch TLJ with how TFA ended, and if anyone didn't like TFA? Well, it ended with the reveal of Luke Skywalker, who's going to have a huge role in TLJ: they'll be on board already, too.

I'm not at all suggesting that this is the best way to go about it - nor do I dare suggest that the film will be ruined by the trailers of a SW film - but what we often forget is that there was a massive six month gap between the TFA SWC trailer and the TFA Monday Night Football trailer dropping, and that was all for the release of a SW film set to usher in the return of the franchise after 10 long years: I don't think TLJ, or IX, for that matter, require as much marketing as TFA or any of the standalone films.

Why aren't they releasing the Han Solo movie in December 2018? I actually thought about it too and they have to start marketing the movie during TLJ hype and release time, because the movie is essentially coming out 5 months later.

With a December 2018 release of Han Solo they can solely focus on TLJ this year, and let it enjoy it's box office run in January/February 2018, THEN you start Marketing Han Solo movie in the spring of 2018. At this point a SW movie in December is as much as given as putting up a Christmas Tree, as I don't understand why the change for Han Solo?

I would give it an A.
This teaser is so much better than all the teasers which get released these days. It shows almost nothing but it drums up your interest for the overall story and the characters' developments. I want to know why Luke is thinking it's time to end the Jedi.

Something else I really enjoyed about this teaser is the feel and look. It looks and feels different from TFA. The trailers of TFA relied on nostalgia and action, the TLJ teaser on the other hand wants to show something completely new.

The teaser for TLJ is such a great appetizer that I don't really need anything else. Of course, I'll still watch other trailers, but this teaser strengthened my belief that Rian Johnson is the right man for this job. #InRianWeTrust

    I'm very excited!

I kow this won't count but A++++++++, I'm sure excited from start to finish after 300 viewings if the jedi ends, so be it. Their existence as beings may be gone but their names will remain.

I give it an A. It was superb - gave away very little while building an insane amount of hype. I mean, just hearing Luke order a hamburger at McDonald's would've probably hyped a lot of us up lol but still...the voiceover was perfect, as were the shots and music. Can't wait for this movie.

I give it an A. Truthfully, in my opinion, the Star Wars franchise as of late, has probably put out some of the best trailers for the sci fi genre that I have ever seen. It's how they merge the images with the music and how they change seamlessly together. I know I am biased in that, the long wait for a new Star Wars movie had most of salivating over everything, but that official TFA trailer was SO damn good... it made you want to figure out what was happening SO badly, and I think it's probably the first time I got chills watching a trailer. So for me that's the high water mark in Trailers, but the TLJ one was good. It was strong. And it's put a lot of us on a familiar edge where we are wondering "what is going to happen" and can't wait to find out.

For me it does exactly what a teaser trailer should do. It build up anticipation for the film with out giving to much away & that last line from Luke just wow talk about dropping about bombshell in the trailer. It was a brilliant piece of marketing for the film. Bring n December.

I liked the trailer, I really did. But being that the BIG REVEAL of it was the apparent end of the Jedi, I wasn't absolutely blown away. Given that I watch Rebels and that the title of the film was "The Last Jedi", I didn't find that reveal to be surprising in the least. I pretty much expected it, even before getting a teaser.

That being said, I would've probably given the original teaser from The Force Awakens a C or B as well, and I ended up loving that movie- so I'm certainly still excited, I just didn't fall in love with this particular teaser.

Oh that line made me joyous for days. At last someone in the Star Wars universe who has seen the light. First they destroy the Sith (good riddance) and now the dogmatic Jedi abolish themselves. I hope Luke replaces it with something better, more realistic, empathetic and more human.

Beat for beat, its identical to the TFA first teaser for timing and feel. Go compare them if you haven't.
It was literally a "teaser", it hinted at things in a way that didn't make it like a proper trailer. All the content was suggestive and hinted at various possibilities.
"It's time for the Jedi." "To End." was obviously a red herring as it sounded like two disjointed sentences edited together to create a shock moment to end on.
    ;)

It didn't seem like they wanted to tell us anything we don't already know. No one is surprised that Luke, Rey, Finn, Poe, Leia, Kylo and Phasma are in the movie. We knew Rey would be training. It's not a revelation that there is information on the Jedi at the first Jedi Temple. We didn't see any new costumes or characters - not even a good look at Kylo's scar.

I guess you could say that we learned that there would be a space battle, and that the Falcon would shoot a Tie Fighter - but neither of those things is particularly surprising.

The biggest two reveals are that Poe's X-Wing gets destroyed and that glimpse of the ships going out to meet the walkers on the white planet.

But I actually liked about the trailer - it wasn't trying to tell us anything other than a new chapter in the Saga is on the way. Don't get me wrong, I always WANT more. But the longer they wait to show us stuff, the less they will ultimately need to spoil.
