Greedo VS Boba Fett

Hey guys and gals! I have been thinking a few things about two well known Bounty Hunters from the SW saga and thought I should bring it here to your attention to see what you guys think. Please try to keep it fun and avoid any insults if anyone takes the side of the hunter that you dislike.

Well let's start! As you have already read, my post is about who really is a better hunter and who is really a dork between these two guys!

Ok first we have Greedo who has been portrayed as a dork in many EU stories and then we have Boba Fett who has been portrayed as a demi-god in the EU to the point that many fans worship him as the Wolverine of SW and they see him as the most awesome Bounty Hunter there has ever been. Though Cad Bane could easily set that record straight, I'll keep things just between Fett and Greedo and not include anyone else.

First off let me start by saying that now that the EU is no more, Greedo can't be seen as a dork and Boba Fett can't be seen as an immortal demi-god we were led to think they were and now we just have the movies and CW to set the record straight. In CW we saw both characters and we have to evaluate them based on some of the things they did. Well, Mr Greedo here had his moment in CW when he successfully captured Baron Papanoida's daughters Che Amanwe and Chi Eekway.

Greedo was discovered though and even though he had to give the girls up, he entered a firefight and gladly managed to survive to fight another day. Seeing that Jabba would employ Greedo is enough to let us think that he must have been a useful hunter cause what would be the point of the old slug hiring a useless dork that can't get a job done right? So score one for Greedo!

Now we have Fett.
While Greedo there was capturing chicks, in CW, Fett was being manhandled (or boyhandled in his case) by them. First at the hands of Aurra Sing:

And then at the hands of Ventress:

To add insult to injury, Boba Fett was even shipped off to become the bride of that creepy sleazy bird guy Otua Blank!


Just looking at that guys face is enough to give me nightmares at the thought of what their honeymoon must have been like!
So while Greedo captured girls and fought and lived to fight another day, Fett was a boytoy and got himself married to Blank so Greedo wins this round.

Now we go to the other part of SW in which many fans argue that is the true canon and that is the movies. So sure, why not, let's get the creepy bird guy out of the way and see how both characters acted in the movies and what better way than to know who's the real best than to measure them against this guy:

Now in the movie, Greedo had the guts to go up to Han and put a gun to his chest. Knowing that Han has a nasty reputation and is always close to Chewie takes alot of bravery on Greedo's part to not care and threaten Solo. What's worst, Han had to fool Greedo and murder him in an underhanded way in order to get out of the jam cause who knows if Greedo would have wasted him in a fair fight. Greedo was so cool that even Jabba got bothered by Han killing him and in the EU, even the most awesome Bounty Hunters including Fett attended his funeral.

Why would Fett go to Greedo's funeral if he had been a loser? Can it be that Greedo was so cool that Boba Fett was crying under his helmet wishing he could be like Greedo? Maybe but let's move on after a moment of silence for awesome old Greedo.
Now Fett on the other hand didn't have the balls to take on Han as Greedo did. It's easy to call yourself the best Bounty Hunter in the galaxy when you have someone asawesome as Darth Vader to hide behind and claim you did the job.

To make matters worst, Vader had even had to warn Fett about not disintegrating his victims. How can you clain that you got the job done when all you give your employer is a bunch of ash and claim that is the target? Isn't that kind of sloppy? If Greedo had wanted he could have easily disintegrated Han and taken his ashes to Jabba but Greedo confronted Han face to face while Fett hid behind Vader.

Now comes the moment we have all been waiting for! While Han had to use underhanded tactics to take down Greedo, he only needed a stick to send Fett to his doom and screaming like a sissy no less apart from the fact that he was even blind!

What kind of a dork gives his back to his enemy and blindly tries to shoot another guy? Not even Greedo was ever that sloppy and while every important hunter went to see Greedo's funeral, nobody cared enough for Fett to even bother to try to get him out and it was only Dengar who is the lamest of all the Bounty Hunters who just happened to find Fett and as an act of mercy decided to nurse him back to health.

So sure, we can eliminate everything EU and not have Fett atend Greedo's funeral but that would also leave poor old Fett in the belly of the Sarlacc crying at the thought that he was there because of a blind man with a stick. What's worst still is that Boba was so lame that he never could handle Han and it took a creepy John Travolta looking Vader wannabe to be the one who finally did the task.


So finally we come to the end of our story and we have to agree that moviewise, Greedo was way more awesome than Fett in every possible way!

But we can't forget that looks aren't everything. While Greedo had the nerve to challenge Solo face to face, Fett was kind of a coward that only faced Solo from behind Vader or when he was blind and helpless. Han had to sucker Greedo to off him but Fett was such a wuss that he got offed by mistake and that makes his death WAY worst than Greedo's.

 

Well we have to see if Fett is indeed still alive as everything EU is no longer canon and he hasn't turned up elsewhere.
