SPECULATION Greg Grunberg role in TFA?

I think that if he's going to be in three movies and spent seven weeks at Pinewood, he must be some member of the Resistance, no?

 

I too was thinking he might be an X-wing pilot, although I can't see any reason for making him the son of [insert OT fighter pilot]. I'm sure all the flight school scholarships (or whatever) available to aspiring Resistance fighters won't be ear marked for scions of named OT characters.

 

I remember seeing Jed Porkins in an episode of Taxi. When Jim bought the bar Marios and an ABC guy (Jed Porkins)was there trying to buy booze after closing time. Jim sold him seltzer

 

i doubt he'll be anyone's son, but a Resistance pilot seems like a good fit, or maybe a First Order officer or something. maybe he's the next Piett?

 

Could be part of the new republic. possibly an aid to leia? I could also see him as an imperial officer, maybe a general or commander of a star destroyer. Something that can go the distance of a trilogy. He definitely seems more like a good guy than a bad guy.

 

I'm going to go with Poe's best friend. Would be cool to see two bros looking for each other's back (unlike Luke who failed miserably with Biggs )

I agree with a lot already said. I think an X-Wing pilot and possibly a friend to Poe is a good idea. I also agree that he doesn't need to be or should be related to any previous character.

 

Interesting with all the info that's been put out with those claiming they know the whole movie, absolutely nothing is known about who Greg is playing. And it's obviously something significant to be there 7 weeks and signed for three movies. It's like I said before, there are things about this movie that are still not known about.

i picture he is the son of biggs and that other lady from the omitted scenes in ep. 4 ?

 

I think he will be a imperial captain on a star destroyer who gets force choked for failure.

 

I scrubbed through the interview but didn't find all those points made. I heard the very end. Did all those points come out of that interview? Does anyone have the actual time codes?

 

I picture him as a captain for ground troops, maybe giving pilots orders as they're rushing to their X-Wings etc.. but I can also picture him as an X-Wing pilot. He's one of those actors who can fill minor roles and still be memorable, a bit like Wedge in the OT.

Yeah, this is why I think he's more likely to be a commander for the rebels. Entire movies have been shot in less time than 7 weeks (Donnie Darko was shot in 4 weeks I believe) so if he's not in prosthetics, and he's in it a lot and he's not one of the main protagonists.. he must surely have something to do with the rebels.

This is him with a beard, as he says he has facial hair for the role.
