    Why does there need to be a Han Solo film? Not really interested in a non-Alliance Han Solo who is just a freighter pilot and smuggler.

    Intitially I would agree with this. I also lean heavily on how Han viewed hokey ancient religions early on, HOWEVER in TFA we listen to Han telling Finn and Rey about Maz running that place for 1000 years, which almost tells me that he's known her seemingly forever. With that being said, it might be fine to have Maz in Solo's film and have him portrayed as that same guy (only younger) from ANH with Maz knowing his perspective and not discussing it with him after him saying; "C'mon Maz, you know I don't believe in that childish stuff!" and just having her shrug it off...or SOMETHING like that.

    I'm personally NOT a fan of the idea of a Solo film, and have plainly voiced my disdain for it. As we know, we're apparently going to get the film anyway, and I hope Ehrenreich can pull it off for his sake, because if he can't, he'll likely receive all of the negative limelight that Hayden Christenen received from millions of irritated fans years back.

    Maz....yeah, why not.

    We'll see. My issue isn't with his acting, but rather if he can pull off a believable young Han Solo...with seems to be sacrilegious to me without Harrison.

    Even though Han is one of my favorite characters, I'm not that worried about it simply because Ford never was that attached to the character, so I don't feel like it betrays Ford or his performances.
    I will always have the Harrison Ford Han Solo.

    I know, and yes I understand that...more than I'd like to admit. It's just that to me, Ford IS Han solo...whether he really liked his character or wanted to be him or not...he just is, in my mind. I've had several of these very conversations with folks and it seems to me that the largest demographic that rejects the "Young Solo" idea almost immediately (or at least groan at the idea) are the 45+ age group that have known "Solo Ford" for 40 years and are reluctant to let him go.

    I'm over 40 and am fine with a younger Solo, BUT only if Ehrenreich can pull it off. I think he can, he knows how important it is plus I really liked him in Hail Ceaser. That was a very eccentric character and he nailed it.

    I wasn't the biggest fan of TFA so i dont know how i feel about Maz but she seems to have major history with Han so it would make more sense if they were together but I'm sure that Alden will be able to pull it off although I was spectacle at first
