Han Solo and Leia...What REALLY happen between them???

I tend to think this story is never going to be told as they are trying to move on with the new characters.

 

Actually, this contradicts the official info released about their relationship. The Visual Dictionary says Han married Leia and was a family man with a career as a racing pilot. They were married and stayed together for over 20 years before the tragic event of Ben turning Dark caused them to go their separate ways. They WERE permanent long term partners and were married and together for over 2 decades. Not just a wartime fling. The Visual Dictionary says Han didn't go back to smuggling until AFTER Ben went Dark and he separated from Leia. He had a career as a racing pilot while he and Leia were together.

A lot of people remember Han from ANH because he's the most interesting then when they make comments about how Han would never settle down and is unreliable, etc. Sure the Han of ANH is a scoundrel and unreliable, but by ROTJ he's changed completely, settled down and committed to Leia by joining up with her cause officially and volunteering to lead a dangerous mission. That's the whole point of his character arc - he goes from selfish smuggler to falling in love with Leia and committing to the Rebellion and becoming a selfless hero. He does revert back to being a smuggler after Ben goes dark, but that's a result of the tragedy that occurred. Han and Leia didn't separate because they got bored of each other, they separated because their son became a mass murdering psycho and Han thought him being around caused Leia to think of Ben and they dealt with their grief in separate ways.

 

Really?! The first thing that pops up on Google when I type in "Han Solo"

I meant that description describes me a lot about Han Solo but I'm also like Analon Skywalmer but Kylo Ren COULD be described like that so hence: DONT GO CALLIN ME NO KYLO REN !

 

He went back to his old ways after what happened with the Jedi Academy.

 

Which wasn't that long ago in the timeline.

And NO ONE has mentioned this.

HE DIED BEING A RESISTANCE HERO ONCE AGAIN.

Technically he wasn't a hero. He voluntarily went to a base where Leia gave him a tad bit more time to save their son. He failed his personal mission so he was never s hero...don't kill me for this but Anello Asty was more a hero than Han Solo was in TFA .

While we're at it, let's build a border around Coruscsnt so that no Jedi can get in because they're a nuisance to our society .

Well, there's also stuff after the Falcon returns to D'Qar.
Leia shares a moment with Rey, and C-3PO interrupts Leia while she's looking a bit grieved and heavy of heart. Her mood only picks up after she realises that they've found Luke.

Why didn't Leia cry? Well... years of drug abuse, mental health issues, and ECT can do that.
Did you want them to recast her or something?

Seriously though... have you ever seen Leia cry?

Comments from a Lucasfilm editor about the upcoming novel, New Republic Bloodlines, indicate that it may not have been as long as we think.
Unless the "cute" scenes are flashbacks, it's less than 6 years since.

They never would have succeeded had Han not gotten in there to set up the explosives.
Han's reckless piloting and effort with the explosives saved the day.

 

A fitting way, he could never turn his back on past.

 

Leia strikes me as the most tragic figure in Star Wars.
Separated from her twin brother.
Mother dies while she is young.
I don't know what people told her about her father, but I'm guessing she presumed he died.
Her home world destroyed by the Empire.

Fast forward to TFA

Her only son turned to the dark side and is actively trying to hunt down her brother.
Her brother has run off after everything he has worked for is destroyed by HER SON.
Her estranged husband is killed by HER SON.

Did I forget anything? We can even add some Rey theories – that she was the young daughter long-presumed dead - kidnapped by HER SON and left on Jakku.

 

success isn't the measure of a hero. he could have escaped, but he chose to confront his son knowing it would probably be the end of him. and even when it was clear he'd failed, he loved Ben. nothing more heroic than that in my book. and that's not even counting the whole blowing up the oscillator to aid the Resistance thing.

i'd like to believe things didn't go wrong until Ben was in his late teens. it's nice to think they had happy years together.

 

Don't. Mess. With. Leia. She's been through a lot of crap and she is stoic.
