RUMOR Han Solo is back?!!

If - and that's a BIG IF - this is true, I'd put as nothing more than a flashback. Maybe a sort of "force ghost party" ending with all the major OT characters watching over the new ones ala ROTJ ending, but I'd put more stock in a flashback.

 

I would welcome a force ghost/flashback or both featuring Han Solo.

 

It could be something small like a holo-recording to Leah or their son. ??

 

If this turns out to be true (it won't) we didn't know that Maul would be in Solo. There is precedent of them doing this.

 

This is my guess. Something for Kylo, but it won't be big. Maybe just a wink and a nod for the fans to see Han, Luke, and Leia in a film one last time.

 

Hope it is from footage of Han, Luke and Leia from TFA that was unused. Would be good to see all three together again ( With Chewie , C3PO and Artoo maybe in the background?) one last time even if it is a flashback.

 

I think this could be a possibility. We already know they are going to be using old footage of Carrie. It would make sense that they reuse this seen. I could see JJ finding away to fit it into the movie

 

I think you have to expect some sort of exposition to explain more about how Ben Solo became Kylo Ren. I think that much of that was planned to be delivered by Leia, but Carrie Fisher's untimely death made that impossible. There is only so much that can be done with unused footage.

While we marveled at the CGI/composite Tarkin in ROGUE ONE, that was in a limited capacity in 4 very brief scenes. Only a couple of those scenes were even close to acting intensive: the scene on the Star Destroyer bridge was one, and the scene(s) in the command center of the Death Star during the test firing on Jedha were the biggest test of whether or not this type of performance could be done convincingly. The other surprise where this type of application was used was the shot of Leia on the bridge of the Tantive IV as she was handed the Death Star plans by Captain Antilles. It was amazing to see this done. But was it totally convincing? Not completely. I think this experience with ROGUE ONE made it clear to everyone that crafting an entire performance this way for a lead actor was possible, but probably not cost effective or convincing enough for the audience to suspend their disbelief.

This is where good screenwriting has to come into play. Devices like a flashback or a holo-recording of Han Solo can possibly fill in a storytelling gap that might have originally been originally slated for Leia. There's the other option of using Luke Skywalker as a Force spirit, but when it comes to Kylo Ren/Ben Solo, Luke may not have the emotional impact that one of his parents would have.

 

Maybe he will have several chapters recorded in the "Solo Chronicles" as a nod back to

 

Come on guys. Kylo knew exactly how and where to run his dad through. He also knew how to stop is fall using the force. Kylo faked Hans death to fool Snoke. Now that Snoke is gone...The big reveal.. Kylo walks into a chamber where his father is being held...

Harrison Ford will never be in another STAR WARS film. He waited decades to kill han off in Ep7 for a reason

 

There was supposed a flashback scene potentially shot for TFA with Han and Leia dropping a young Ben off with Luke. They very well could be using that. They have been scouring all the unused Leia footage so they may have decided to use this scene.

 

I was wondering how they would have footage of the 3 of them from TFA if Luke was always on the island by himself?

Sorry, I just read this post so it answers my question above.

 

Very easy scene to do with CGI and existing footage. They may have filmed a part like this for Han and Leia in 2015, which can be edited (de-aging, different costumes etc) then they just need to do Mark's part.

They COULD have got Harrison and Luke in to film together, maybe. I can imagine Mark would have liked that, as he'd already filmed with Carrie in TLJ.

JJ definitely has a trick up his sleeve.

 

Leia did say in TFA that Han could reach him because he was his father. I could see Kylo finding a recording or message from Han to him or Leia that could help lead to his redemption.
