Han and Kylo talking. Before that Poe said "If you can still see the light there is hope."

So Kylo started to show emotions and took out his lightsaber and handed it to Han. Right after,

The light is fading until its gone. And what was a light on Kylo's face was exchanged for a red light from the inside showing that Ben Solo is really gone and twisted by the dark side. Thats when he did it.

There is ALOT of scenes like that in the movie. And this was the best one in my opinion. You could see that Ben is still trying to crawl from the Kylo, but Kylo just didnt let it happen. Such a strong scene.

    Good scene breakdown.

I thought all of Driver's scene's were meaningful, and sinister.

My favourite though, has to be Ray taking what is her's, in the last fight, the acceptance. The close-up shot of her face against the backlight of the blue and red Saber's. The music... bravo :)

^ That was really funny. Also I think BB8 had more emotions than any random prequel character...

You're spot on, I thought the same thing too.

I think this sort of stuff goes over a lot of people's heads, which usually leads to criticism sadly. Which is a shame as the little things such as those make the film better.

was beautifully done scene, only minor gripe is as Han and Ben/Kylo hadn't had any scenes togther previous to this, Ben killing his father didn't have quite the emotional impact it could of, but its a minor gripe as it was still heart breaking. It was a beautifully done scene.

Think having Kylo kill Han his dad really established Kylo's character, and might help audiences get other the fact he really came accross as weak when fighting Finn and Rey.

I'm stuck between Rey vs Kylo in the battle of the force minds & Leia & Han's reunion, ok Kylo vs Rey in the force mind battle.

I also think Kylo WANTS to embrace the darkside and is RESISTING the light. Exact opposite of what Luke and other Jedi do. They WANT to embrace the light and RESIST the darkside.

What's more tragic is that Leia got Han killed. Han had written his son off. Leia convinces him he's still good and tells him to bring their boy home. Really sad. And to watch as Han just falls....just tragic.

sadly, even if you believe in the good in people and even if you love them and even if your belief is strong enough to move heaven and earth... sometimes it's just not enough.

    Agreed.

Just my opinion but I feel anyone who is saying it is cheap or has no point are just deluding themselves and are scared of the truth...

Did anyone else wince when Rey was trying to take off in the Falcon and think 'Han's not gonna be happy about that...'

I think at the relatively quick pace the movie was going people missed some of the great subtle story moments such as the darkness enveloping Kylo. After a few more viewings people will catch on to them and it may even convert a few of the haters.

It is definitely a film that has to be watched more than once to truly appreciate it.

One of the great things about that moment (and, incidentally, one of many reasons that makes the whole thing the exact opposite of "cheap") is the way it emphasizes and completes Han's character's arc - from the cynic rogue whose main interest was "the reward" to a man, heroically willing to risk his life, - in a moment when he doesn't really have to - in order to bring back his own son.

I put an emphasis on the fact that he didn't have to go there and talk with Kylo, because this really underlines how it is an act born out of pure, selfless, paternal love. Han and Chewbacca were done setting the explosives and Kylo was walking in the opposite direction. They could've just leave the place, blow it up and reach the Falcon - maybe even killing Kylo, in the process. Or the screenwriters could have played it differently, having Han sacrifice himself in order to give the others time to run away.

Instead, they went with a man (who, once, "shot first") risking everything to save the son who betrayed everything Han and Leia (and Luke) believed in and fought for. And I feel there's nothing more noble and heroic (and deeply human) than that.

The fact that even after being killed Han's last action was brushing the face of his son is going to be important later on if they do decide to redeem Kylo Ren
