Hayden Christensen Returning As Darth Vader in Kenobi Series

Cool but it should only be flashbacks! Obi-Wan should not interact with Vader between ROTS and New Hope and especially a fight

The Chosen One finally returns in live action!

I can go either way on the “rematch”; the show will be fantastic either way!

This just makes me smile, I feel like a kid/teenager again.

 

Amazing news but how will this work? He will be notieably older than he was in the prequels..

 

It’s been rumored for a while that we’ll see flashbacks of Hayden wearing Anakin’s Clone Wars armor. And for the “present-day” of the show, he’d be wearing the Vader suit anyway.

Are we sure ?
The only thing I can refer is Vader's line when he feels Kenobi aboard the DS 1, in ANH. This line is "a presence I haven't felt since..." and no more precision, right? (at least in french version, Vader does not end his line).

So when did they met for the last time before ANH ? the Mustafar affair ? Did really Vader never get close to Kenobi, during the twenty years of the Jedi Purge he was hunting for him ?

 

It's just my head canon. The creatives at LFL continue to amaze me with twists and turns of The Madalorian, so I'm sure they're capable of "doing it right."

 

Who cares! It's a movie, getting in costume and the right haircut will do the magic!

 

My "Are we sure?" was more of "Does anyone know something in the canon that would give us the answer: 'yes' or 'no'

 

I take this a good news, but it strikes me as odd that it wasn't announced that both James Earl Jones and Hayden Christensen are returning. I would think it would be very weird to have Christensen without Jones unless Anakin's appearance is strictly for flashbacks. I didn't see the full presentation, so maybe I missed reference to Jones. Regardless, I'm looking forward to this series!

 

As will Ewan McGregor? Why is this a problem? I would evne go as far as to expect them to have aged over the years.

 

As a massive prequels fan, I love that he is coming back. If I'm honest I'm not really fussed if he is in the suit or not and he doesn't do the voice so it's a bit odd. But maybe we will get some Vader without the mask scarred and burnt which would be cool.

 

Remember the bacta tank in ROGUE ONE We know Vader has (at least, from time to time) to fully remove the armor and fully immerge himself naked in bacta

 

yeah. would be cool to hear him talk maybe actually have a scene with Obi-Wan without the mask.

 

Some reminiscence of the AOTC scene with Dooku and an entraved Obi Wan.

This time would be a sassy Obi Wan tormenting an entraved Anakin/Vader.

As for Kenobi, I swear on everything that is holy is this world I will swear off SW for life and sell off my entire collection if Kennedy and company drop the ball on this Kenobi series.

Flashback to before the series was officially announced, I posted here that the series had to contain a Kenobi/Vader fight because it made sense. IIRC I was ridiculed a bit (yeah you know who you are!).

EPIII: Kenobi left Mustafar thinking Anakin was dead
EPIV: Kenobi knew Anakin was Vader was and he was alive.
EPIV: Vader told Tarkin about Kenobi, "A tremor in the Force. The last time I felt it was in the presence of my old master"
Anakin and Kenobi were literally side by side for 10-12 years so I doubt the tremor he was referring too was from Mustafar. He was referring to another past event.
Vader to Kenobi: You should not have come back. Literally speaking Kenobi could not have "come back" unless it was on Mustafar..
EPVI: Vader to Luke, "Obi-Wan once thought as you do". My money is on this line.

Kenobi will be on Tantoine to watch over and protect Luke until he learns Anakin is alive as Vader. Feeling responsible for the fall of the Jedi and out of love for his former padawan Kenobi goes off-world to track the Sith Lord. Kenobi also knows he needs Anakin/Vader to defeat the Emperor. Kenobi will try to turn Vader and fail which will lead to the "rematch of the century" as KK put it. Vader will wallop Kenobi's butt but will not finish him off and allow Kenobi to escape. Kenobi will retreat to Tantoine broken, psychologically scared and will remain secluded to watch Luke from afar.
