RUMOR Hayden Christensen to return in Episode 8.

As I said previously, I wouldn't have a problem if they do it right and actually bring out proper emotion in a FG Anakin. After all, Anakin is the patriarch of the Skywalker clan as well as being the Chosen One, and if Rey is his granddaughter it would be nice to have Luke and Anakin communicate with her and Anakin can try to reason with both Luke and Rey to try and bring Ben back and not to make the same mistakes he made when he was alive.

 

With Kylo being as fixated on Vader as he is...
yes, to my utter shock and surprise, I'd like that.

And I don't think that Hayden Christensen is that bad an actor.
I mean, those movies made Ewan McGregor look bad in some parts, so I'm really really curious how'd that work out.

And this concept is rad as hell!
I wanna see this on a screen!

All that wooden acting and crying, she'd be perfect at playing a moisture vaporator .

What would you recommend I watch to get an accurate opinion on his acting skill?

 

He sucks more as a writer than a director...he's better at low-concept direction versus High-Concept direction, but has a tough time filling in the stuffing of the turkey z

Jumper, that movie with Paul WLker and Idris Elba, Marco Polo or whatever that period piece he will be in...I'm actually in the process of potentially closing s contract with him, but it's unprofessional to ask him a question like that lol .

 

I love Darth Vader, i absolutely LOVE Darth Vader, i think Darth Vader should be in every single Star Wars Movie, Video Game or TV Show.

Personally i consider Mr. Hayden Christ...... the worst Darth Vader i've seen in the Star Wars, so in my humble opinion bring back Darth Vader, Clone Him, to the new Star Wars trilogy but let Mr. Christensen alone in his doings outside the Star Wars.

Did i already mention i really like Darth Vader!

 

Ok so with the Visual Dictionary of the alternating Light/Dark Side Anakin force ghost that was supposed to appear to Luke and Ben in TFA image here:

Now what I am about to say may be completely in loony land and you can laugh at me if you want. Personally I would have loved to see the Duality Anakin FG in TFA and even in this movie it gives both prospectives of Anakin's character and his status with the Force I mean he literally was created by the Force and he almost mastered but was immensely powerful in both the Dark and Light Sides of the Force. If he came back as Duality Anakin it would make what Yoda said about the Dark Side true, that once you fall to the Dark Side you could never truly come back from it. For all we know, Anakin could have been learning more about the Force as a FG and mastering both sides of the Force and in the process of doing so, his Dark half came back and that is why we see the Duality Anakin in the Concept Art. And technically Anakin was the most powerful Force user in the history of the galaxy and with mastery of both the Light and Dark and with the knowledge of Qui-Gon/Yoda/Obi-Wan he could manifest both sides of the force to who ever he chose to.

IIRC maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong here, but didn't Ben communicate with Vader, he wanted Vader to show him the power of the Dark Side 'again' which could be interpreted many different ways such as Anakin's dark side half communicating with Ben about the Dark Side along with Snoke.

I think it would be an amazing idea if Hayden played him in person, while James Earl Jones and Hayden both co-voice Duality Anakin you know, Hayden voicing the Light Side version and James voicing the Dark Side version. What do you guys think? Awesome idea or am I crazy?

I defiantly want to see this trilogy tie in with the prequels.... i know they arn't the best films ever but their part of the story and i don't want them pushed to aside and buried.
I also think having Hayden appear to Kylo Ren as Anakin could be interesting. As long as he is only used sparingly and the focus remains on Kylo Ren and his story, not brining back Vader for a cheap kick... his story has been told.

 

If they do bring him back and he sucks then I hope it ruins the careers of whoever decided to bring him back. In my opinion, ep VII used up the nostalgia card. Now they need to do something new and exciting in ep VIII. Using the PT version of Anakin is not a step forward. I don't think his casting can help the story so that means it would be only neutral or possible a detriment to the story. If they make it work then fine but if they bring him back and he is just as wooden as he was in the PT then shame on them for going back to that well. Hayden did not add to the GFFA, he only detracted from it.

Exactly! I' m curious and would like to know what they are talking about. That for a flashback/ ghost scene sounds good to me.

 

I wouldn't necessarily mind it. But the idea of their being two different ghosts, one for Anakin and one for Vader, is pretty dumb. I suppose Snoke could be conjuring a fake Vader ghost to manipulate Kylo Ren or whatever but that's treading on some really thin ice.

 

I am not opposed to this at all. Like many of you have said, if done right (and I truly think it would be), it could really end up being awesome.

I don't blame Hayden Christensen for his wooden or stiff acting in The Prequels anymore than I blame Liam Neeson, Samuel L Jackson or Natalie Portman for theirs. All three of the actors I just named are brilliant actors, yet let's face it, they gave wooden or stiff acting performances in The Prequels. As did Hayden.

With all due respect to George Lucas, he gave all of the actors in the Prequels terrible dialogue & poor direction.

I've seen Hayden in other movies & he really isn't a bad actor at all. I think if Hayden was given another chance to portray Anakin Skywalker in either Episode 8 or 9 (or both) under a much better script & a new director, I think he'd do a great job. In fact, I think he'd go in to the role with something to prove on his mind & because of that, hit it out of the park.

Hayden reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker in Episode 8 or 9 (or again, both) will settle the debate once & for all on whether or not he sucks as an actor or whether or not he did the best he could with a lousy script & even lousier direction. I think it will prove the later. It will prove that in the end, Hayden really wasn't a bad actor, but was given a bad script & bad direction.

I hope for this sake that this does happen & that he does a great job. I'd like to see his career get a jump start from this & his own redemption out of it.

And as for the story itself, I think having Anakin Skywalker show up and confront Kylo Ren/Ben Solo would be very interesting & compelling to watch.

I know that in TFA book it goes into the fact that Kylo Ren does in fact know that at the end of Anakin/Vader's life he did turn back to the light by saving Luke. I know that Kylo Ren promises Snoke that he will not do the same & basically that it's Darth Vader that Kylo Ren worships and wants to be like, not Anakin Skywalker. But even having said that, I think if Kylo Ren is confronted by the real thing-by Anakin Skywalker-that it will have a profound effect on him & be quite the moment.

In TFA when Han says to Leia-"How can I get our son back (from the Dark Side)? Luke tried to do it & he couldn't & he's a Jedi?" to which Leia replies-"But you're his father...", that really got me thinking that it may end up being Anakin that gets Kylo Ren to turn back to the light. Maybe both Han & Leia weren't far off in what they said about what it would take to get their son to turn back to the light. That it would take a Jedi & his father to do so. Anakin would fit both roles. He's a Jedi & Ben Solo's father.....his Grandfather that is, but still a father in name to Ben Solo.

And here's another thing to consider, not even Luke could know what it would be like to turn to the Dark Side. Nor would Luke know what it takes to turn back to the light. Anakin would. On both counts.

The story is almost screaming for Anakin to be in it now after seeing what I saw in TFA. And now knowing there was thought of having Anakin in Episode 7....oh it's happening. And relax if it gets out that it is happening before Episode 8 (and or 9-whenever Anakin appears for the first time). It will be OK. Honestly try & go into it with an open mind & give Hayden & the whole idea a chance. You may end up really liking it.

I personally hope they keep it a secret that Anakin's in either Episode 8 and/or 9. I think it would be smart just so people wouldn't lose their minds in a bad way ahead of time & it would end up being such a moment when it happens if they were able to keep it under wraps.

The story is calling for it.

I have faith it will be done right.

I'm really hoping episode VIII doesn't try to re-do the plot of ESB like TFA did with ANH. That said, some subtle parallels with ESB would be nice, and the appearance of a force ghost in the form of Hayden Christensen would both fit perfectly into the plot (given Kylo's obsession with Vader), and make for a subtle echo of ESB that isn't, however, just a re-use of the exact same ideas.

Here's a question, though: would Christensen even want to be in Star Wars again? He's certainly gotten a lot of flack for AoTC and RoTS, and even though they were his big breaks as an actor, they've also been monkeys on his back for more than a decade. I could imagine him wanting to have nothing more to do with the franchise. Has he gone on record about this at any point?

It seems like every actor who's been involved with Star Wars has, in the last few years, come out in an interview with some comment about the new Star Wars - usually followed by one of those "Yeah, I'd love to come back!" comments. But zilch from Christensen, so far as I've heard - and I've been reading Star Wars news religiously every day since Disney bought Lucasfilm...

No. Never. Ever. The guy can't act. I am not trying to be mean, but he is incapable of giving a good performance. I've seen a few movies of his and he's not talented at all.

He ruined two Star Wars movies already. Keep him away from any of the others. That includes deleting him from ROTJ.
