RUMOR Hayden Christensen to return in Episode 8.

Id love to see Anakin/Vader as a force ghost and it seems reasonable that this is what Disney will do. I'm wonder just who he would appear to though,

Luke is an obvious choice, giving hin guidance on how to deal with Kylo Ren

Rey is a strong possibility, as he could shed some light on her past.

Leia is probably a long shot as those two didnt have the best relationship in the OT and I doubt she'd want to see him.

Maz is another long shot but you never know if those two have a history or not

Kylo Ren would have to be the odds on favorite for about 500 different reasons, take your pick.

Snoke seems unlikely unless he is Darth Plagueis, and even then I would think its because DP has somehow "pulled back" Anakin's ghost forcefully from the nether of the force.

 

i almost feel like it's inevitable that Anakin is involved in the sequel trilogy.

after all, i think the trilogy will be about Darkness and Light.
how Luke has seen the effects of both in his life...
how his wisdom extends further into this "reality" than Yoda's or Obi-Wan's.
because he now knows that you cannot extinguish the darkness. thinking that you can is the arrogance that led the jedi to their extinction.
Luke, the only one left, exists on "another plane".

he acknowledges that we all have Dark and Light within us...
and Anakin is a very compelling symbol of this.
after all, the pictures of their concept art in the book show this direction...

in the Star Wars universe, good and bad has been very "binary".
i think the sequel trilogy will play with the two, and show how delicate the line can be....
how one's own motivations can seem good... but be quite negative for others.
and vice versa.

they want it to be more "yin-yang" than binary.
this, at least to me, is much more compelling.

we already see this at work.
Kylo is not a textbook villain.
Luke will not be seen as a textbook Yoda.
things he does. heck - has already done. will not be understood at first.
why did he disappear? some people will see it as he "ran away".
it's already evident that he knows things, and was doing things that are above others' pay grade.

 

This is the only scenario that would interest me: Anakin appearing to Ren to argue against him and Ren having to justify his choices to his idol (who he already sees as a "corrupted" Vader).

 

He is 10 years older, experienced and look more mature. He would be great.

 

Life as a House and Shattered Glass for example.

 

To be honest the only force ghost I want to see is Yoda.
And I'm not even sure about that one.

Anakin or Obi-Wan would be massive minefields because they could easily break perception of their characters retroactively and create instant inconsistancy since the last time we saw them they were portrayed by now deceased actors ( Don't even go there. Please. Be mindful of your feelings).

 

It definitely would be interesting to see how they would use Hayden if he were in Episode VIII. I think he got a rough deal with the prequels and he isn't as bad of an actor as he was made out to be so I would be up for him appearing briefly. The Art of Star Wars the Force Awakens had a very interesting concept for an Anakin/ Vader force ghost which would be pretty cool to see in 8. Maybe have the Vader ghost appearing to Kylo Ren and the Anakin ghost appear to Luke and/ or Rey.

 

I think the only way we would see him come back would be as a flashback and not as a force ghost, even though that is how I would prefer to see him. Unfortunately I do not think it will happen though, and for one reason: $$$. I don't mean to sound pessimistic, but the Chinese government does not allow for ghosts to appear in films screened there. Disney has been pushing hard to market SW in China and to establish a new fanship there, so I doubt they would do anything to jeopardize that. I hope that I am wrong though!

 

I wouldn't mind, on paper. But he can't act. I've seen a few of his performances outside of star wars and he simply can't act. His line delivery is off. He's like a robot.

In his most recent movie with Adrien Brody, his acting is described as the best part of the movie by professional critics.

 

Fantastic. Great. He is still is not a good actor. No amount of nominations or obscure rewards will change my opinion, as my opinion is based upon watching him act. He's not a good actor, he has no charisma. It's also worth noting that he won a razzie for his acting, but that only shows a different opinion. The only opinion of value is your own.

Edit- being described as the best part of the movie is not an indicator of how good he is, it's relative.

 

Golden globe awards are obscure awards?! Really?!

Soo basically you're saying you're an indicator of how much someone is a good actor.

 

Maybe there's a light side ghost, and for the darkside, he could appear via holocron or some dark relic.

 

Please indicate to me where he won a golden globe (not that it matters tbh) and also indicate where I said that I decide for everyone who is or isn't a good actor.

 

This isn't a subject to be considered because i think he enters in that movies that cannot be spoken

And I will say he is a good actor.

I like him as Anakin. I liked him in other movies. He is even better now in recent movies. He would be great.
