RUMOR Hayden Christensen to return in Episode 8.

I think it makes sense for Anakin to be young as played by Hayden. Who wants to live in "heaven" or wherever forever as their old self? And, I would like for Hayden to redeem himself, to show what he can do with great directing and a better script. I love what Lucas did with the originals, but he had more people then telling him what worked and what needed help. In the prequels, any idea he had he was given the green light. Do you realize that if left up to him, Indy 4 would be called Indiana Jones and the Spaceman?! He needs someone to restrain his craziness.

 

I don't consider that ridiculous apperance at the end of ROTJ (GL fault, not Hayden) as a canon, but if Disney decided that its canon, ok.

If Anakin as to appers as a force ghost in the next episodes I preffer to watch some kind of CGI's Sebastian Shaw's face than Hayden.

There is also another film that I recall to watch that Hayden's acting was horrible, "life as a House". The shower scene its just lame, sorry but the guy its not a good actor. We can blame the stupid story, script, directing, bunch of CGI scenes, but also Hayden's performance sucks!

Anyways, we will must wait to clebrate or not about the veracity of Hayden's apperance in the ST...heheheh

 

Hayden is a pretty crummy actor so I don't think he would be much better with different material. In fairness to Hayden, most of Hollywood are crummy actors, as these days it's all about looks and less talent. You look at the 1970's and you had actors like Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman, Harvey Keitel, Meryl Streep, etc. All VERY talented actors who aren't considered beautiful in today's standards of looks, but they were getting the big time roles back then. Most of the great actors from this generation are doing indie films (Paul Giamatti comes to mind, or even the late Phillip Seymour Hoffman.)

Now you see most actors come from modeling and really can't act that well. Just look at any summer blockbuster movie and its the flavor of the month actor who you won't hear of 10 years from now. If Hayden Christensen had average looks there is no way he would be in Hollywood right now acting, just like many other actors and actresses.

 

I don't know, am willing to give him a second shot but he makes me cringe. He's a little older now maybe he has learned

 

Honestly it wouldn't bug me so much IF the reason for ghost Anakin being Hayden made sense. Once he throws the Emperor down the shaft, he redeems himself, is no longer Vader, and is Anakin again. He's redeemed and he dies, as Anakin, the hero, in the end. The last time we see Anakin as his true self ISN'T in Episode III. If this is a flashback or something then fine.

 

Ok, so HC gets to have another go at playing Anakin. But if he f**ks up again, do we get to force choke him this time?

 

Sebastian Shaw was only a glorified cameo in ROTJ. Fans were attached to Darth Vader not to Shaw. He is like only few minutes on screen.

As for practical effects, PT is full of practical effects. TFA is combination of both, CGI and practical effects, just like PT. Nothing really new there.

Also you probably watched the OT when you were a kid and everything was so mazing and perfect. It can go both ways. OT is faaaaaar from perfect.
I'am grown up, but still my favorite star wars movie is ROTS. And I like all of them.

This won't happen, but what if Hayden as Anakin is speaking to Luke in Ep VIII, then it cuts to Anakin having his helmet replaced in his meditation chamber before turning to speak to Piett about the Falcon entering the asteroid field during ESB? That would be mind-blowing, if Anakin/Vader was influencing future decisions all along.

But like I said, won't happen.

I'm all for Hayden returning, though. I've no issue with that at all. Bring it on, in fact....

I agree. Theres no reason for him to become young as a ghost. And Haydens force ghost had an evil grimace that didn't fit with being benevolent.

 

What about this... Maybe Kylo Ren successfully resurrect anakin in the attempt to bring back Darth Vader using Luke's Soul as tribute. but when anakin comes back he is not Darth Vader he is the youthful sand hating Anakin from before the fall. Much too Ren's Chagrin. Then Anakin completes Rey and or Finn's training, and helps Kylo to see the error of his ways.

I know that nobody really wants vader back but I would really kind of like to see something like this happen... Im for HC playing Anni as long as it makes sense and as long as I get conversation between Anni and Luke. even if for only one scene

 

No. At first I was trying my to be open minded but my heart doesn't want Hayden back at all. Let's move on please. New characters. New actors.

 

I see what you mean... I can see how Hayden coming back cold ruin the films or what not. But I always try to keep the options open until I see it... I can think and feel something might be bad idea and be totally right. Or they might go about in a way that i never expected and could still be bad or be freaking Awesome. There have been all theses rumor and speculations that Luke will be a villain. I like that but I also don't like to discount and possibilities for the story. Because If I were making this movie and just decided not to have hayden because vader is dead and nobody liked him, I could be missing out on some great material. But that being said it is iffy and I understand your feeling. I personally having nothing against Christensen's performance. My bigger fear is the story aspect of bringing him in. if he does come back I want it to feel natural, organic. I don't want it thrown in there because its vader.
