I think we can all agree JJ Abrams has earned the moniker "King of the Reboots" with The Force Awakens standing as his magnum opus. So why not ride the momentum and have Abrams fix what went wrong with the prequel films? He'd keep what worked in them, stick to The Maker's general outline, but address the shortcomings that have haunted Star Wars fans for years.

Sorry, can't support any endeavor that claims TFA is a reboot and uses it to support its petition.

However, if you guys are serious, you might consider fishing the Red Letter Media prequel reviews comments section.

I don't think that TFA is a reboot, but I do agree that redoing the prequels would be really freaking awesome because I love the era.

I understand that the prevailing view of this forum is that Episode 7 is way better than the prequels, and it's great for everyone to have their own opinion. But I personally liked the PT much better, and while I acknowledge that many people will disagree with me, I personally would sooner sign a petition for Disney to hand control of the ST back to GL.

After watching "THE FORCE AWAKENS", I can only conclude that the idea sucks.

    I share your opinion wholeheartedly.

I think at this point they should leave the past where it's at. No remakes and no more SE changes to the Original Trilogy. It's best to move forward with new exciting Star Wars Episodes and Anthologies that focus on new characters and introduce us to exciting new worlds.

Lastly with regards to the past ... Disney should try to release remastered theatrical copies of the Original Trilogy (de-specialized).

This is what I agree with.
Do I think the prequels are good? Hell to the no.
Do I love The Force Awakens? Hell to the yes.
Do I want them to remake the prequels? Not really.
We can always dream about how much better those films could have been, but let's leave it in the past and move forward.

Agreed. Its easy to think about what the prequels could have been and even at times how much they didn't live up to the hype because our expectations were so high. I learned my lesson on expectations...I like the Prequels to a degree but out of the 3, I respect RotS more because it puts I and II to shame. I love TFA because it took away the bad aftertaste of what the prequels left me with hence I took a break from SW and moved on to other things. Do I want them to remake the prequels? I am in the minority where yes it will be a slap in the face as long as Lucas is still alive. So no...not really. It is what it is...All we can do and this is what I have learned in the past is to move forward and just be grateful that SW is in good hands now with Disney. At least to me.

JJ rebooting the PT in the Style of the OT? His style never was OT. So don´t expect JJ doing Lucas´ Style of filmmaking when he is obviously having his own style already...

I never thought TFA was done in the style of the OT. The camerawork, direction, pacing and tone made it a significantly different film stylistically. There were similar aesthetics and plot parallels, but the film didn't feel much like the OT.

I say that as a compliment, because I didn't want the OT 2.0. If I want to relive the original films, I own them and can watch them anytime. I'm glad TFA set itself apart and we can enjoy three unique trilogies. :)

A very strange idea, why not think in your own imaginations instead, and make something your own
