Snoke is not alive, rian saw to that. If anything, Luke is the most likely of the dead characters to still be alive (if he is at all). At this point I think that Snoke could come back but either as something akin to Bane in TCW or as a voice in Ben's head as he tries to do ther ight thing in his eyes

I think Kylo will be haunted by either Snoke or (even better) Luke.

This. Kylo is his own biggest enemy. He has to realise that he's wrong all by himself.

Yeah it's like it's becoming more "quantifiable" as the movie progresses. That could be all there is to it. But I'm wondering if it's setting up something.

It could be. But I'm not a fan of time travel inside of Star Wars. I think it opens the door for too many things. This is part of the problem with a lot of Doctor Who now. "You can't cross time streams! It's a fixed point!......unless we need to for dramatic purposes then screw the rules!"

Oh, Luke is totally going to mess with his nephew. But Snoke is dead and the only way he should appear in the present is if Kylo Ren has occasional hallucinations or nightmares. There's precedent for the former, given how he believed that Darth Vader was showing him visions in The Force Awakens.

Not too many people can survive a lightsaber shot in the kidneys and be around to talk about it.
    Jokes aside...dude's dead.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not predicting anything here. Just, throwing out what pops into my mind when certain information goes in. Just now I logged in and that "world between worlds" thread is in the recent replies box. Which pops the tesseract from Interstellar into my mind. They're both pretty much 3d representations of time. Rey and Murph actually have a fair amount of crossover now that it's in there. Like I posted those two gifs because they both have that scene where the parent is leaving them behind on a desert planet and they're shouting at the disappearing vehicle. They both have that abandonment issue, both trying to make contact with the parent. Both wondering if they were left on purpose. Both special in a certain a aptitude. Both mentored by an old guy who is hiding a truth. Both have the pressure of being forced into the role of saving something larger than themselves. Both have a male counterpart that is an adversary (Murph's older brother in Interstellar). Both have a "quantifiable connection" with another person.

Time travel in Star Wars does sound weird to me. Feels counterintuitive. But that may be because it hasn't been introduced and so feels "off" whereas if it were introduced, it may come to not feel that way. I'm not sure if it would technically be considered "time travel" of the species we see in Doctor Who. It was a bootstrap paradox via a 3d time "interface" which did allow action across time. A "bridge" between the 5d and the 3d worlds. Now that I think about it, the force is similar to the bulk beings in Interstellar.

But, like I said, not really predicting things, just, noticing things I guess. Things which may or may not have any meaningful correlation in relation to one another.

I wasn't intending to make it sound like I thought this was your prediction or anything. Apologies if it did seem like I was putting that on you.

I think it would still feel weird because what we know about Star Wars is that things are fixed and the MINUTE you introduce this sort of element to it, I think things become too blurry and less poignant. If you can bring someone back, no deaths mean anything anymore. Han's death meant something. Luke's death meant something. Kenobi's death meant something. Vader's death meant something.

This is why I think Loki and unfortunately my lovely Gamora have to stay dead. There have to be some permanent deaths from this movie or else it looses all it's weight. It's why I hated them bringing Colson back for Agents of Shield on TV. I know fantasy/comic books, no one is ever really dead but let's at least PRETEND this matters lol.

    Im rambling now.
TL:DR It opens too much of a grey area in Star Wars for me to like it's inclusion.

Snoke looked dead already. Could be animated corpse by a powerful dark side user that we have not seen yet. Snoke’s words “strike your true enemy” seem to indicate Snoke knew Kylo would kill him. He wanted Kylo to kill his master.

Snoke seem to survive his head split in half. Losing legs seem trivial.

They just made it so obvious that he died. Cut in half, tongue out, the only way he could look more dead is if he had flys on him. That being said I don't really want them to bring him back but I would love some explanation into who is was, how he took control of the first order, how he learned to use the force, and much more.

I'm not saying Snoke is alive. I'm just going to say that anythings possible after this... If there is any official hint, this is it. He dinged his head pretty bad on the way down to.

The big difference between Maul coming back and Snoke coming back: people wanted Maul to come back.

Maul's resurrection is really not a great plot point. BUT he's such a great character that we would rather retcon his death than lose him, which I think is why we're willing to except the spider-legs deal.

Snoke, on the other hand? Is there really such a clamor for his return? I want to know where he came from, sure, but I don't need him back.

Pfft.. says you! As 'awesome' as he looked, I was happy for him to stay dead!

To me, the idea of his 'resurrection' just reeked of service to poor fanfic ideas that wants him around for no other reason than he looks 'cool and badass'. Just like the comics did with Boba Fett before him. Once they're dead, let them stay dead! Resurrecting the bad guy just gets lame and old and something of a joke if you keep doing it time and time again.

So no... I can definitely do without the resurrection of Snoke. I mean, at least Maul and Fett did actually look cool and badass. But does anyone really want the guy in the gold lame robes back on the scene? Don't answer that...!

Why? What purpose does it have? He isnt needed he was a diversion. Now the focus moves on to Kylo, Hux and likely Knights of Ren

What do people have against Darth Hefner? <-- (sarcasm) I actually did like his character, though they gave us enough to not care about his death. Perhaps it's everything we don't know about him that is so intriguing to me. He doesn't need a resurrection or didn't die in VIII, but it would be nice to get a bit more of a backstory at some point, his part in the story has been critical in Kylo's development. I have yet to read the book, I'm told it does offer more about Snoke than the movie provides, which is probably a good place for it.

Snoke is deader than dead. And not even Hux tried to put him back together.

Okay, i admit Snoke looked quite DEAD when he was cut in half.
But I still can't shake the feeling that there's still more to him...... his death was just too easy.

Mark my words, we haven't heard the last of him.
