Hopes: Solide characters & arcs. Interesting execution of premise & plots. Exploration of local cultures & politics. Fun callbacks & cameos. Brave & risk-taking writing & production.

Fears: Exaggerated focus on action & spectacle over story content & drama. Tension-less, by the numbers, conflicts & resolutions. No Boba Fett.

Ironically, my hopes and fears are the complete reverse of yours! I hope the show is dark and gritty, as it can push Star Wars into new and exciting paths. Anything new and different I find welcoming. My fear is that there will be force users. At this time, the Force seems to have disappeared from knowledge (like pre-Episode IV where Vader is referred as being the “last of his religion.”) This is also indicated why Rey would think of Luke as a “legend.” I fear that seeing too many Force users popping up all over the galaxy will dilute the “special” nature of the Jedi. That was why I did not really buy into the concept of the Inquisitors in Rebels.

But then again, I really liked Broom Boy....

I have very high hopes for The Mandalorian; everything from the crew and the cast to the characters as well as the atmosphere and the general feel appeals to me a lot so I hope they'll tell a good story with quite a bit of action during chaotic times in a Star Wars universe. Hope it to be something along the lines of a proper gritty "space western" and less focused on the Force and its users.
