As a book reader, one of the things I loved about the world of ASOIAF was House Targaryen and the Dragons. While I was looking forward to a show about "the Long Night" I have to admit, I'm pretty pumped about this new show. So let's discuss it and the books on which it is based.

The first book which takes place between the Targaryen arrival at kings landing up until the Dance of Dragons is really good with a whole load of Targaryen history although as it is written as a historical archive of the events I’m interested to see how they adapt it for TV.

I totally enjoyed Fire and Blood. But I think the one thing I missed, was the normal narrative that comes with a novel. But I think that might be what helps this get adapted perhaps more easily than A Song of Ice and Fire. You could say they essentially have an outline to work from, and just need to to fill in the gaps. Plus George RR Martin is working with them, so hopefully they won't run into the problems the other show experienced in its later seasons.

I love me some Targaryen's so this show should be right up my alley. :)
