How about a Sebastian Stan as Luke in a post RoJ standalone?

    Saw this over the weekend and not sure if it was shared here (prolly was so delete if so). After seeing this I am totally on board with a post RoJ Luke story with Stan being Luke. It's not just because of the similarities in looks because Sebastian has been great as Winter Soldier. Also don't we all want to know what happens with Luke after RoJ and before TFA?!?!?!?

    If you are for this idea, please share what you would want the movie/story to be about. If you aren't for it, please say why.

    My story would have to be how Luke started his Jedi Temple and how his vision of the Jedi Order could be different from what we know. Maybe he has influences from Yoda or Obi Wan on how he should proceed. The story ends with either Ben Solo going to Luke to start training (so they can milk the storyline for multiple movies) or just go til Ben flips and how all that Luke had worked for was lost.

    Hmm that would be interesting for sure, but Sebastian Stan REALLY does look like Luke. The thing is how much time would pass between ROTJ and the film, and what do you think it would be about?

    I think a few years after would be sufficient enough to get a chance for all RoJ backlash to be ironed out (what happens after the war and how things start to be repaired) that way it's not having to closeout that storyline. Then it could focus just on what Luke does as the founder of new Jedi Order (or continuation of it). We could also get a chance to see Luke at the height of his powers or getting to the point where he is at his best. We got some glimpses of that in RoJ, but we didn't truly see all that Luke can do. I just think there are a lot of possibilities. Even if they don't do a Luke standalone, Stan can play Luke as cameos in the new standalones, ESPECIALLY if they go the route of Obi Wan trilogy.

    I'd like that, having a stand-alone movie about how Luke created his Jedi Academy, without including the other Big Three - focused solely in him going back to Devaron or whichever planet he used.

    Maybe even focus on him and Ben Solo during their mission during Bloodlines...yeah, Luke will be closer to Mark Hamill than Sebastian Stan but it COULD still work.

    The resemblance is uncanny. So we have Alden Ehrenreich confirmed as Han, Sebastian Stan looks a heck of a lot like young Mark Hamill... all we need is a Carrie Fisher look-alike.

    I would love to see a Post-ROTJ movie starring a young Luke Skywalker. It would be awesome to witness how he rebuilds the Jedi.

    But I would also like a Luke Skywalker movie between ESB and ROTJ. Between this movies is a timespan of 1 year. In this 1 year Luke becomes a real Jedi-Knight. It would be nice to see how Luke gets used to the ways of the force.

    The movie could also show how Luke, Leia, Chewie and Lando (new actors) find out where Han Solo is held captive. Then we see, how they prepare to rescue him. (=> compare with the non-canon “Shadows of the Empire”)

    Mmm not that much. And don't get me started on Alden Ehrenreich.

    I daresay a timespan of 6 months to a year.

    There is a canon book named "Moving Target" about a mission Leia participates with the Rebellion before joining Luke and Lando on planning Han's rescue.

    I love this idea. Maybe a decade from now we could get a trilogy that details some of the events between ROTG and TFA. I'd love for some Thrawn...

    I'm not a fan of re-casting...I'd rather see him play Luke's son in episode 9, that would be perfect!

    No thanks in regard to Sebastian Stan. I think Disney needs find a story that is not so strongly associated with the Original Trilogy.

    Saw that photo along ago - great idea. Also I think Sebastian would be a good choice for spin-offs between Ep VI and VII and on my opinion not for main character, but for some specific scenes explaining what Luke does or where he is while the film continues.

    As much as Sebastian Stan looks like Hamill, and as much as I want post-Jedi Luke stuff, No they shouldn't. My main problem with it would be that unlike Alden, this would be Luke in between young Hamill and old Hamill. Alden is playing Han at a time we have never seen Han before but with this, chronologically, it would go Hamill-Stan-Hamill and I don't think not would feel right.

    Sorry, still new and can`t rate your post, I`m totally agree with you - very good point about Hamill-Stan-Hamill. The rightest thing is already done - comic books to fill the gaps, books to describe main plots. I rely on animated TV series in future, so Hamill can provide his voice for a character. On the other side lets imagine Sequel Trilogy is a new OT :D and there must be PT explaining what happened, so Stan would be great choice...

    If they were dead set on doing a post-RotJ Luke story than I wouldn't want anyone else but Sebastian Stan but again I hope they keep that stuff to books/comics or like you said an animated thing with Hamill.
