Hey Cantinanites! Our world seems to have been completely upended over the past couple months due to the crisis known as the novel coronavirus (or COVID-19.) Most of us are on lockdown or shelter in place. How has this time been for you? Have you done anything different? Picked up a new hobby? Lost a job? Are you going completely crazy having been in quarantine for so long or have you liked the peace and quiet?

I live in California. We have been in shelter in place since mid March, our planned lifting of this measure is on May 3rd, we are almost there. We sadly saw a huge spike in confirmed cases yesterday, but largely we have been doing well, especially the county I live in. I have had to pull out of work due to health reasons but am planning to go back once this shelter in place is lifted. I am half looking forward to it, half not. I have enjoyed this time being with my family, but I miss seeing my extended family. Even some of my immediate family I have not seen since the holidays since they are either out of state or southern part.

It is going to be interesting to see how the rest of this year plays out! What do you expect to happen once all these shelter in place/lockdown will be lifted? How soon do you think life will return to normal, if it ever does? What do you think of this whole experience? I, for one, have never seen anything quite like this that has affected the whole world at one time!

Well, I've been deemed as an "essential employee", so it's business as usual, which is fine considering the fact that my wife has her office set up at home and is working remotely. That scenario of her and I being locked up in the same place for weeks/months on end might not end well, lol!! :D:D:D

I live in El Paso tx where we haven’t been hit that hard by the virus. We are on lockdown, but otherwise business as usual.

I'm a manager at a hospital clinic. I still go in several days a week but generally get 2 days to work from home each week. Traffic in the mornings is the best I've ever experienced! (I know it's only temporary :() Painted 3 rooms in the house and complete some other projects. I miss going to the gym, seeing people in general and going places other than a grocery store. Our local park re-opened so I'm planning to visit there and walk. (I walk my neighborhood, just want a change of scenery)
Overall doing well and will be glad when this is a memory.

I heartily agree, mate. However, that maybe a while before that happens. I'm worried about the economic fallout this will have once all is said and done. Businesses are struggling to stay afloat and if this continues, many of the department stores that we used to enjoy shopping at may be gone!

Starting my 7th week of isolation today. It's going well, actually, spending my time geeking out hard.

It's good to live in a sane country right about now <3

I haven’t left the house in 5 weeks Thankfully I have a garden so I can make the most of the sunny weather at the moment. I also have friends & family nearby so they drop the shopping of at the front door which is a huge help.

I'm an "essential worker"(do audio for local news) to so, it hasn't been all that different personally. Though, I am starting to look like Luke ( minus the grey and beard) from TFA/TLJ without being able to get a haircut...

Life’s been mostly business as usual for me as well. I really miss my friends and family though. If this quarantine has taught me anything, it’s that I need to get out of the house more! (Once it’s safe too, of course. :D)

For Star Wars related things in my life:
    • New episodes of The Clone Wars are keeping me sane and I’ve been trying to get caught up on videos and podcasts from Star Wars Explained and The Resistance Broadcast respectively.
    • I finished replaying Jedi: Fallen Order for the third time.
    • In May, I plan to do a big Star Wars marathon with the films, the finally completed Clone Wars series, Rebels, The Mandalorian, and Resistance.
    • I still need to finish Master and Apprentice. Started reading it in February and haven’t picked it up since.
    • Also, I need to read Alphabet Squadron. After that, I might re-read some of the older canon books I haven’t read in a while.
    • I‘d like to get caught up on comics during this time, but we’ll see how that goes. (I’ve been trying to get caught up for two years...)
As for my life outside of Star Wars, I just finished binge watching through all the Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies and every film in the MCU. This quarantine gave me an excuse to grow my hair out, so it’s extra curly right now. I’m getting plenty of exercise during this time. I need to cut back on the junk food though; otherwise I’ll come out of this looking like Jabba the Hutt.

That’s pretty much it for me!

Two minor negatives in my life:

    1) My house is starting to look like this ('cause laziness)
    star-wars-garbage-chute-1024x684.jpg

and, 2) I ain't got no D+ yet and won't for another few months ('cause Randynavia got passed over again and D+ won't launch here until July/August, I think)... Dagnabbit all to heck!

When this thing started I try to move on, but media and goverment making things worse. Lucky went to con but it did affected as one panell got cancelled. Thought it won't get worst as my con in April move to August, then Prime Minister accounce lockdown then my work started locked down. It bad timing when I order two items on ebay and it on click and collect, the store I meant to collect it from close down cos of lockdown. Stop watching news cos it depressing and it get worse. Do enjoyed my time staying home staying in bed and got more time to do things and spend more time on internet but miss going out, did go to city centre twice just to get things and little sight seeing. Went to shop three times, Saturday, Monday & Wednesday and my brother & I go to a supermarket every Thursday. My other con which is next month is move to October. My other 3 cons are in August but feel it could delay again or worse cancelled. Believe it won't get back to normal when lockdown finish.

It does look like a movie with this lockdownn but without too much drama like in movie ot TV series.

@Angelman Man, I feel this SO much. Last week, I finally cleaned the house and my muscles hurt for two days like after serious gym workout. I am not joking, the house was THAT bad, it required THAT much cleaning. At least it's livable now. :D

On that note, they should reopen gyms this week and some businesses here. Though I feel it's too early, and people are too lax, I am still glad, cause I started going stir crazy and I miss exercise. We'll see how that will go.

I work at home in normal circumstances so quarantine didn't change anything, but not going out for days on end was hard. Going to the bank the other day without public transportation was an adventure. I watched a million Asian dramas, read some comics, found few new friends online from all over... all in all, it's not too bad. This too shall pass. Will we be cleverer or more appreciative because of it? Now that is the question.

    CONGRATS!!

For the most part I'm doing well. I'm in town with my family, so that's nice. We've all experimented with what recipes we like and meal-planning (my family wasn't too big on looking out past a week previously), so I've found some new recipes I really like! I do check my apartment once a month in order to make sure it's alright though.

My first semester of grad school is winding down, so I just have a few last papers to finish. Other than that, I'm finishing some video games I'm behind on, trying to keep my book challenge group engaged, and texting friends (some more than I used to in order to check on them and give them an ear to complain or vent to; others not as much since we're all in crunch-time).

Most of the books I want come out in October and November so I have a solid five months to catch up on the books I previously bought and haven't read yet.

I did have a trip this summer that was postponed until Christmas, and then cancelled altogether, and I probably won't buy the PS5 this winter, but both of those are fine. The trip can happen next summer (or when there's a vaccine and travel bans lift) and the PS5 launch lineup most likely won't have the games I really want (Horizon Zero Dawn sequel and the Spider-Man sequel). Not a lot of news for Nintendo either, but I'm satisfied with what I have. ...although I do need to buy some new joy-cons soon...

With all this free time, and after watching hours of movies, finally decided to start a youtube channel. Since it's May the 4th, I did a piano cover of The Force Theme and The Imperial March. Hope you like it!
