In the deleted scenes for Ep III, we see a ship land on Dagobah, open, and disgorge a less than eager Yoda onto his new home world. Who is piloting that ship? Droids? Obiwan? Bail Organa and Mon Mothma? Wookiees? Or did Yoda pilot the ship himself? Since when is Yoda a pilot?

For the early years of his exile, did Yoda live in the ship? What happened to that ship, if it stayed on Dagobah? Could Yoda have left at any time, or was he marooned? If not, then how many people know of Yoda's survival, not to mention of his hideout?

So many questions. Does anyone have answers? Thanks in advance.

On the last story arc of TCW (season six), we see Yoda piloting his starfighter. But it actually could be R2-D2 who were doing the piloting.
I think Yoda went to Dagobah all by himself. He didn't need to be a pilot to do that. I mean, I'm not a professional driver, but I can drive my own particular car.
Maybe he lived in the ship while he was building the hut we saw on ROTJ. Yoda wasn't marooned, was exiled, so I suppose that the first years of his exile he could have taken his ship and go elsewhere if he needed/wanted to. Maybe by the time of ROTJ he was actually stranded if the ship went ruined over the time by weather, bad maintenance, etc...
Obviously, at least Obi-Wan knows Yoda's location, since he says Luke where to find him. But I doubt many more people, if any, knew it

I have always wondered why that scene was cut out of the film. I believe it was actually even shown in the theaters in some countries, but was cut out for the DVD version.

I don't remember seeing the Yoda scene in Spanish theaters, but I do remember seeing both scenes you say (along with others, like Grievous killing Shaak Ti, and many scenes with Padme, Bail Organa and young Mon Mothma) on the DVD extras.

If I'm not mistaken, George said that this scene was deleted because he wanted to focus on the Skywalker family: Vader, Leia and Luke.

It's an escape pod, and not really a ship in what we would think a ship is (being able to land and take off multiple times). When I saw the deleted scenes from the DVD i always assumed it was an escape pod from Organa's ship, however, I do remember reading an EU explanation that it's an escape pod from a ship Yoda stowed away on when he left the medical asteroid that Padme died on. So I guess it depends on how much you put into the now defunct EU. Logic still tells me it was from Organa's ship, that on his way back to Alderran he flew close enough to Dagobah that Yoda was able to eject and get close to Dagobah.

Since it was an escape pod, and was made to only get someone far enough to get away from a disaster, it prob didn't have much fuel, so it was pretty much dead in the water when he arrived. If there was fuel left, there prob wasn't much to get him anywhere.

With that said, Yoda didn't want to go anywhere, he was in self-imposed exile. He put himself there.

He piloted it himself. Just because we didn't see him pilot anything prior to that, doesn't automatically exclude him from being a pilot.

In AOTC he is seen climbing into a very small craft about the size of an escape pod. It looked to be a single seat craft about his size. The basic shape was that of an escape pod.

Here is it. (not sure why its posted twice)
