How I think Han Solo Will Appear in Episode 8

Or he sees Han Solo sitting beside him but only HE can see Han Solo .

 

In my wildest dreams, there is a way he survived and when he comes back to Leia he tells her: "Afraid I was gonna leave without a goodbye kiss?". (For the laughs lol). That would be a theory (I'm not so sure about). But dunno, maybe as flashbacks he will appear as.

 

He's back because Han Solo doesn't die...he's Han Solo .

 

i'm not convinced he's actually going to appear, but if he does, i hope it's as a prerecorded holovid of some kind. or just haunting Kylo Ren in some fashion.

while i'd be sorta interested in flashbacks, i'd prefer they just moved forward. there's nothing of the past that i think we absolutely need to see and frankly, for me, it would be too painful.

 

The only thing that may need to be addressed is whatever the secret he was going to tell Leia before he left for Starkiller. Maybe he recorded it on holo, before TFA it seemed he may never see her again, so possible he recorded some sort of "play this when I die" thing.

 

i don't think there is any "secret". i think he was just wanting to reconcile with her. she didn't want to "jinx" his leaving. it didn't work.

 

I have two theories:

-He appears as a hallucination of Ben's. Ben still hasn't gotten over killing his father, and imagines Han being there and taunting him (that seems like somethihg that Rian Johnson might do).

-It turns out that he left a pre-recorded message for everyone before he left for SKB (because he suspected that he wouldn't be coming back alive).

Although I'm still not convinced that he'll appear at all, but we'll see.

 

Same here, I'm already in tears when thinking about it lol.

 

KK explicitly stated that Harrison as well as LST will be back somehow...I don't think that he'd taunt Kylo as much as being a hallucination that's "pulling" him back to the light since he killed his dada sort of like a force ghost...but not .

 

man it just gets me.... that moment when Leia's talking to him and he looks so broken and says "if Luke couldn't reach him, how can i?". and she says "you're his father."

and then later on the bridge, he has that moment ~ that fatherly glimmer of hope: "yes, anything," like he believes he might actually bring him home.

arghhhh.....

 

If only he had snatched the saver and thrown it down into the core like Kenobi's LIGHTSABER then I think it might have been a tad easier for Kylo to not want to kill him so badly .

It just goes to show you, just because you "call something" happening, doesn't mean that it cannot still be effective in-context. I knew (well I knew as soon as Ford was confirmed to return), that Han was a goner as soon as Kylo sensed his presence on SKB. But, that didn't make that scene any less effective for me.

 

Yeah that scene is pretty difficult to watch for me too but I don't like how obvious/implied it was gay he was pretty much dead .

I also keep thinking that there was more filmed with Han and Leia, and maybe that would be seen as a flashback.

 

See the only thing that gives me some pause on that is that SW hasn't traditionally done full-on flashbacks. I mean TFA got away with it by making it a Force Vision, and also showing premonitions of the future as well.

 

I loved that scene because of that. There was no way he was leaving Starkillerstation with Han, even if he wanted to- then Snoke would have killed them both. He himself said so " it's too late".

What makes me even more sad is that he indeed tried to protect his father before- during the meeting with Snoke. He assure Snoke that Han doesn't mean anything to him so that he can assert his lack of attachment without having to kill him.
