SPECULATION How much screentime will Captain Phasma ( "Captain Merchandise" !) get in Episode VIII?

The problem is she is pretty much responsible for the whole Jakku village being slaughtered---and it wasn't no accident

 

Yeah there is that minor detail that I overlooked, but what's a few villagers in the grand scheme of things. I don't care one way or another and I bought her character was over hyped and under used. I just think if they want to continue her character in EP 8 they could and should give her a purpose be that hunting Finn or undercover in the FO it makes no difference.
I do think she'll have a much expanded role and not be an after thought or just a marketing tool.

 

technically Kylo Ren ordered the Jakku massacre and people have no problem dragging his ass back to the Light, so i think Phasma's options are pretty wide open.

that said, while i'm all for a stormtrooper revolt, i feel like we gotta keep some of our villains on the wrong side of the fence.
so i'd much rather see her fighting the revolt than helping to lead it.

 

I want to see her become one of the Knights of Ren.

 

I suggested this a long time ago but maybe there will be a massive afinn vs Phasma right that will give phasma much Marie dialog and depth to her character where Finn infiltrates the FO and exposes the true identity of The FO and the troopers revolt and plasma is a bad### who takes on like 5-10 troopers at once --- and beats them or something like that .

 

I'm thinking that after Starkiller Base is blown up, Phasma is presumed dead with the wreckage - potentially setting her up as a rogue villain/bounty hunter able to work without the FO knowing, or for a reveal towards the middle-end of the movie for a bigger moment.

It would be cool if the FO presumed she was dead though, sets up a few intriguing possibilities

 

I would love for them to go this route. By any means I expect/hope Phasma to go a Boba Fett esque route in VIII with Finn playing the Han

 

Maybe Captain Toy will get thrown in a trash compacter "off screen" again.
It looks like it's a no go to kill off a female character.

 

I am sure she has a big beef with Finn. I just know she will go after him. It could be bounty hunter style.

 

A few things.
General Hux can't be Starkiller focused as he was last film. Also his objectives won't be droid capture. It stands to reason that this film will present itself in more war-like combat situations. Makes sense for Hux to have a proxy for that and Phasma seems the obvious choice.

Also there may be a bigger divide this film between Hux and Kylo. Hux needs Phasma in his corner.

With Starkiller blown up, all evidence that it was Phasma who let down the shields is history.

According to Pablo Hidalgo we are going to learn Hux's first name this film. Be funny if it was Phasma who says it.

 

excellent point. there's no one alive who actually knows she did it. so unless there are some kind of records that survived, she may not be penalized.
i have a feeling Hux would somehow know. but he'd just use it to hold over her.

 

It would be funnier if Ben said his first name and then Hux calls him "Ben" but I still think that shell have minimal screen time just as much as TFA maybe add a couple of more scenes.
