Obi Wan is one of my favorite Saga characters and I like all his incarnations: Alec Guinnes, Ewan McGregor and James Arnold Taylor. But, I don't think it is necessary for him to appear in the sequels. This is a SW next generation and Luke (and Leia and Han) should be mentors to the new kids. It would be nice if Luke mentioned him, but I wouldn't like to see him, certainly not as Alec Guinness. As @duckface said, he didn't agree to this.

Now, do I want Obi Wan movie? YES. And Ewan wants to do it, so... Disney, get on it!

I would say that if he was going to make an appearance it would have to be a big event. I would have him show up once, maybe in 8 or 9.

I don't think he would need to be made up at all. He's a ghost, whose to says ghosts can't change their form?

I guess just based on prior knowledge. Why wouldn't he always have that form?

Because he is a ghost, can do what he wants. Anakin can change form from sebastian shaw to hayden christiansen. ;)

The rumors regarding both Alec Guinness and Peter Cushing are, frankly, ghoulish to me. You shouldn't use actors in something unless they agree to be used -- I know the precedent now gives the estate control, but morally it is still wrong. ESPECIALLY when you consider how little love Alec Guinness had for the movies toward the end of his life.

I'd totally geek out of we see a Force ghost Anakin warning the younger Skywalkers about the dark side.

Back on topic.... because the younger folks associate OBI WAN w/ Mcgregor...am fairly certain Lucasfilm will opt for him as a FG.

Since Luke is not a main character, I wouldn't expect any solo scenes from him, so we won't see Yoda or Obi-Wan.
