    That is entirely possible.

I don't know if that is true. That he doesn't care about what others are thinking of him. It seemed to me that he cares a great deal what Luke thinks of him basically begging for his forgivness before their final fight with his "have you come to save my soul?"....and also it seemed very important to him that Rey knows the truth about what happened at the jedi academy.

There's a difference between lonelines and solitude.
"Loneliness expresses the pain of being alone and solitude expresses the glory of being alone."
I deeply believe Kylo feels lonelyness. And the only cure for that is to...umm...to not be alone?

His past "bad behaviour" is a form of self punishemnt to a degree. For things he felt respinsible but didn't know how to deal with. So it makes him a victim, in a way. That is where the compassion for him originates from in the people who have compassion for him. And that compassion is there because of people relating to him, in that account, I believe.

Then, my experiences are then somewhat different than yours.
But I would say that only the good people forgive. While assholes insist they are right. :D
And also the good people are becoming scarce.
It is important to be a realist :)

    Was he in the movies?

right: we don't know. that's for Ben to sort out though. and that's my point. you mentioned "projection" and sure, we all do it. but in the end, how Ben feels about what comes next is all that matters. i believe being centered and balanced will give him the perspective to accept solitude or love, whichever may come. you have a different take, that's all.

even as a realist it's important to maintain hope.
that said, this is a fantasy story. the two do not need to be compatible ~ ha! : D

he's in Star Wars. that's all that matters.
