    If I were to recreate Rey, I would make her look more like a scavenger! Have a couple fingers missing from digging around in those star destroyers, scars, broken bones, missing teeth from fighting, messy hair, etc. Make it look like she's been through serious situations and has suffered throughout the years. Doing this will allow the audience to relate with her more. Everyone faces serious conflicts and with that comes consequences, but we are able to excel and grow from that. These Disney Star Wars movies are lacking that theme.

    Have we seen the same cut of Episode VIII, because The Last Jedi is about exact that, probably moreso than any other films in the franchise?

    Perhaps in characters like Poe and potentially Kylo Ren.

    In my image of Rey, she is a girl who would do anything to ensure her survival on Jakku. Whether it means making morally wrong decisions (stealing, fighting, etc), it shows that she needs to put herself in front of others. And for that she faces serious consequences for those actions. Then once she gains her force abilities, she realizes she isn't the only one in the galaxy going thru the similar hardships (ben solo). So she uses her power to help others.

    Indeed! Also, make her struggle just like Luke did, and allow her character to grow (especially philosophically) across the three movies. Do the same for the other characters, especially Finn.

    The writers had a great opportunity to come up with something that is both entertaining and insightful, and they failed to accomplish such.
