    see title. Sry I cant find a option to change that. I received over 80 Mails in the last 2 days from the cantina. :-( meh. Thanks for your help.

    There's an option in your preferences called "Automatically watch threads that you create or when you reply..." I turned it off for you.

    Are you sure when you selected to watch a thread you selected the option "without receiving email notification"? If you're not sure unwatch them all and then when you select to watch them again, make sure to select that option.

    Every thread you watch has a binocular icon next to it. Go to these threads. In the upper right corner of the thread you will see an "unwatch thread" option. Click it. Then again click to watch the thread and select "without receiving email notification".
    Is anyone else having the same problem?

    I had the same problem too. My options defaulted to "automatically watch threads" and receiving email notifications of replies. My inbox became full of emails shortly after becoming active on the forums. I thought unchecking the email replies option would solve it, but I still received emails. I guess it requires the user to unwatch all currently watched threads before the unchecked email reply option takes effect?

    I just had the same problem. May I suggest that the e-mail thing is set to off automatically for all new members registrering? (This is meant as a friendly suggestion, not harrasment :) ).

    I love this forum, but, man, the e-mails are killing me. I do not want to receive them, and it's getting to the point that I'm loathe to contribute to a thread due to all the forum acrobatics I have to go through to not receive them. I know that a forum doesn't want to inadvertently discourage its own use.

    I can't imagine anyone wants all these e-mails. Angelman is on right track, but I think whenever some registers the default should be watch without receiving e-mails when you create or reply to a thread. That's the happy medium.

    Hi @Braktastic,
    You need to update your "Alert Preferenes" by off-checking all the circumstances in which you do not want to receive allerts. Furthermore, you need to update your "Preferences", by off-checking the and receive email notifications of replies box. That done, the e-mail allerts should stop (they did for me). You might still, if I remember correctly, continue to receive e-mail alerts from treads that you have already responded to (because you responded to the tread prior to updating your references), but that can be remedied by doing this -->
    I am pretty sure this SHOULD take care of all your problems, although, as you indicated I've already stated, it would be VERY helpful if the moderators (hi @Viral Hide) could just off-check these preferences automatically for all new recruits (assuming, of course, that this is technically possible by altering the set-up).

    I already did that months ago. New members shouldn't have this problem.
    @Braktastic is one of the old members, that's why he has to manually switch this off.
