I feel like this shouldn't be made, now.

While not vital to the movies, I think it will be nice to have a "filler" movie to make the most of the time while we wait.

Heck maybe they will find a way to tie something in either something in the background, or plot, or characters.

You are right, this movie doesn't need to be made but unfortunately its going to be... Some fans loved everything explained and they want to see it on the big screen EG Kessel run or when he met Chewie.. i hope it fails big time... like Ep 1. ( and 2, 3 and 7 ) those movies sucked for me.

 

I hope the opposite! I want Star Wars films till the end of time... haha Standalone Vader, Leia, Boba Fett, OB1, Luke Skywalker, Old Republic Film, film between 6&7, Between 5&6, b4 TPM.......... Episodes 10-12 and beyond!

 

If i was a genie that had to grant you wishes, i still would not let you wish for those movies...

 

I remember the dark times, when I went to the cinema to watch Star Trek films. You thought the prequels were bad those were bad films. haha We're getting Star Wars films every year!!!

 

I would support new idea's like Old Republic Movies but only movies that get away from the Solo and Skywalker names... its one of the reasons why Rogue one was a hit, lots of people are sick of that story.. they want new movies with new stories.
I'd love to see 10 -15 movies done like Marvel have done, all movies morph into a huge move where a team take down an old fashion Sith Lord... ( old republic though)

 

This could be like a SW movie but not for SW fans. Once in a while Hollywood makes a film and people say, "It's really more for the fans."
Han Solo movie might be one of those films that pulls the non-fans into become full fans to pour even more money into the franchise.
If they could be turned they would become powerful allies

But I voted "Maybe, maybe not." Hope for the best.

 

I'm getting sick of Captain America and Spiderman... haha just joking. Yeah I know what you mean. Its a huge universe. I want, but I know I won't get, films based on the Old Republic. I recently heard that Lucas was jealous of those Old Republic animated shorts because they were so good. Hopefully, Kathleen Kennedy will have a more positive perspective on those amazing shorts. I want them to take Star Wars films to a galaxy far far away but since films are made to make money, and lots of it, they're taking the safe route, so give me a Solo, Vader, Luke film cuz I know thats what I will most likely get...

 

I feel that Kathleen Kennedy and the Lucasfilm collective know exactly what they're doing. They're giving fans exactly what they want while also pushing the boundaries and being more experimental. KK and Lucasfilm have been given one of the hardest jobs in the world by bringing Star Wars back to life and to create a Star Wars that everyone loves. Some risks need to be taken.

No one realty asked for the Han Solo film, but we're getting one. I personally can't wait for it! Here's some reasons why I think it'll be good:

• Anthology films expand our beloved Star Wars universe. Instead of expanding it the old fashioned way (the EU) through books, comics, and animated shows; we're now getting feature length films too! (which is on top of our new canon material!)
• World building. More planets, environments, new ships, new weapons, new characters, and more.
• Quality talent is being put into this film. From the actors to the directors. This is a great cast.
• I've read a couple of articles now saying that this is going to feel like a Western in Space. I love this idea.
• Untold story. In the new canon this is an untold story. There's a good chance we'll see how Han and Chewie met and possibly the Kessel Run - we don't know for sure... but how amazing would that be?
• The screenplay is being written by Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon. This gives me great confidence.
• Humour. This film is being directed by the dudes who brought you the Lego Movie. Expect some humour mixed with an undertone of a serious message.

I hope I've given some of my fellow Star Wars fans a little more confidence. May the Force be with you... always.
