Indeed. The most upsetting thing that happened when I saw the Premiere of TPM was the sound went out when Sidious is talking to Nut Gunray and Darth Maul on Naboo. The screen then froze.

Never had that happen to me, fortunately. Worst that ever happened for me was that I got bad seats for RoTJ (it was before you could reserve seats).

I was blessed someone went and talked to the manger and they rewinded the film and we got to see Maul say “Yes Master,” which for me, a major Maulite in those days, was a big deal.

It was also major because Maul had how many lines? Like 2? LOL. Maul is hands down my favorite Sith (if for no other reason the way he prowled back and forth outside of the shields like a Tiger, waiting to fight Qui Gon).

Maul was my favorite Sith tell Revan and Malgus. I became less enchanted with Maul ressurected in the Clone Wars. I preferred when TPM and EU/Legends was all the Maul we could access.

I did one with Solo (can't remember if I did one TFA and TLJ), Basically they give you a special exclusive merchandise and normally a free popcorn and you get see the movie generally an hour earlier than everyone. Some people did dress up. IMO, it wasn't worth it unless if was the only option to see an early time in IMAX. Maybe my theater was just lame since there is no fan event for TROS much less a SW marathon option. So I guess it depends on your theater. Not all are treated equal.

Sounds like everyone pretty much got the tickets they wanted. That's great! May the Force be with everyone!

Nerd is too derogatory. I prefer geek. I am a Star Wars geek and proud of it. I'm 46 years old and I sometimes wear Star Wars shirts and/or shoes. I have a few Star Wars collectibles displayed around my home. I don't claim to know everything about Star Wars, I don't think anyone does, but I know my way around pretty well. I've won my fair share of Star Wars Trivial Pursuit matches. Life's too short to overly care what other people think. I'm going to wear Jedi robes to the premier and probably act a little silly. With all of the horrible things going on in the world, I think more people could use a few hours of just being silly. LIke what you like. You don't owe anyone an explanation.

I think the opening night fan events for The Rise of Skywalker have a free drink and popcorn, a collectible pin, and screen an hour earlier. The marathon has those plus a blanket. I'm sure individual theaters may add things like a poster or something. I plan on seeing it multiple times and I'm going all out. Star Wars is forever, but I am not, so I pick certain things to indulge in with no regrets and Star Wars is one of those things for me.

Everything in your sentences was entirely.. right.,:)

We should not worry about what others think of us. I intend to dress up in Sith robes for the premiere and perhaps if allowed take my light up lighsaber. The truth is anyone who laughs at you dressed up is secretly glad you came to make the experiance more epic. They actual envy us for our courage and joy. ;)

they just opened overnight showings at my theater from the 19th (it'll be running continuously from 5pm on the 19th, through 11pm on the 20th).

i am so tempted to buy some 3am tickets for when it's likely the theater won't be that crowded, but i have to drive to my sister's in the morning to catch the 3pm showing at her theater that day. XD

the only seats left in my fan event are the front row, which are wretched seats that never sell (bad theater design--they're just too close).

depending on how much the movie makes me cry, i might go Christmas day as well.

The fandumb menace strikes again. How can you logically think that and say to yourself, "this is okay to post"? Anything for hate clicks.

Wow, I haven't heard of this before. Maybe they have to fill those seats with Disney employees or something in order to not get caught. In all seriousness, this has to be Anti-Disney poodoo.

Remember the good old days when conspiracy theories sometimes made some form of plausible sense?

Well, I'm sure there are Disney employees who have tickets, you know bought legitimately. I highly, highly doubt Disney is forcing it's employees to do that. To suggest it's some sort of conspiracy is ridiculous and absurd. Also, why would they do that with JUST Star Wars? It doesn't make sense.
