I don't blame the people who've gotten burnt out. It happens to many of us with a lot of our fandoms sooner or later. But I have no immediate plans to pull away. This is the most new content we've ever gotten. For me it's genuinely exciting.

 

Neither am I to be honest. I never really got the appeal of the character outside of the cool outfit, and even that's never really been exclusive to him for me.

Neither am I. Mando's a bright spot, but even that isn't shining as bright as before... (Although I want to give The Bad Batch a chance to win me over.)

Ah, I remember those feelings! That was me pre and post-TFA. Everything felt new and exciting; new and interesting books and comics that could go anywhere and helped paint a bigger picture; the speculation about how everything would tie in...fun times...enjoy these feelings!

I jokingly hate him, as I find him annoying. At least he has a consistent character that annoys me. I do think that the show would be better if it removed everyone aside from hera, kanan, and chopper.

I'm not sure that one is a hot take as I think most people would probably agree with it.

I'd say it's specifically a Revenge Of The Sith whoops though. Having Padmé die shortly after giving birth is the whoops in this case I think!

Giving birth to their children and insisting that Anakin is still good before leaving them orphaned because she didn't have the will to live and to raise them was a big whoops.

She expresses more hope than anyone else yet she has nothing to live for in spite of just producing twins. That's some arbitrary, shoehorned in Dickensian plot convenience there.

what we need is a re imagining & re casting of the sequels


start with re casting

Admiral Holdo- need less toxic dialog, and a more likeable actress, so I suggest Katheryn Winnick , much more believable as a warrior than the ancient looking Dern

Kylo Ren - not imposing enough to be main bad guy , use Alexander Ludwig, big enough to be menacing, great with a weapon

Poe- Travis Frimmel, likeable and strong far better choice

General Hux- Gustaf Skarsgård would be perfect

Rose- Emma Stone, for the role perky, smart and attractive is what is needed, Stone is all of that

Finn- Keep Boyega, but make him strong, and not in need of saving by Rey, independent and if you must make him cowardly at 1st let him grow and become a hero

Rey- Keep Daisy, love her to bits, but give her actual trials, let her fail, learn and get stronger through lessons learned

 

Rollo (Clive Standen) would have been an awesome Sith Lord.

As for Skarsgård, I prefer him as Darth Plagueis.

 

I was going to fight this point, since I don't think the goal of Kylo was to fear his stature but rather his emotional and mental instability (think Joffery "Baratheon" or Ramsay "Bolton" in Game of Thrones - they aren't feared because they're imposing like the Night King was, they're feared because you don't know what they're going to do next, and that can be scarier in some instances*). But then I saw who you picked, and that's a darn good choice!

That being said @risastór recasting won't fix the issues of the ST, PT, or even OT for those who'd want that eventually. A Batman Forever and Batman & Robin would still be as hammy as it is today, even if Val Kilmer and George Clooney weren't behind the mask. Fixing the story should be the larger focus and the starting point. Look outside of the remake and ask "do you want a muligan or a fresh start?" and go from there. After that, work out the plot, and then you can rework the cast if necessary. So I guess: Vision (what do we want this to look like), Story (how does this fit in, and what do we want to do), and then Cast (who will people see when they see this story).

I definitely agree, but I think I can also see where Lucas is coming from in a way.

If we look at the story from the chronological perspective, Padme's last lines are a foreshadowing, a casting of hope into the future for the viewers. They're a sign that things are bad now, but Anakin can be saved.

From a character perspective, I think Lucas realized that Padme would never give up her children if she lived and was in any position to do so, like the story necessitated. So instead of giving her an out (i.e. putting her in a coma to recover while the twins are separated, or having her live with Luke in his early life and then Leia later on (which is why the former can't and the latter can)), he decided to kill the queen instead. Yes, it created a plot hole, but a minor one in the grand scheme of things, and it ultimately added to the ironic tragedy - Anakin turned to the Dark Side to save the woman he ultimately ended up killing, or helped kill at the very least.



*However, the unknown is only part of the equation here. We know why the unknown is scary, because the person isn't stable. A person randomly acting out without any reason makes us wary, but we won't care about the character. Heck, there may even be a method to the madness. But when we know why the person is unpredictable...there's a fear in that.

 

Plus considering that she’s saying this to Obi-Wan > who’s holding infant Luke. Her last desire is his first experience - the thread of redemptive hope being passed from mother to son. Some good stuff that be.
