    Your opinion leads me to agree... other than the mystical part. I do like the idea of exploring the force more, but I see your point. It could be done in a different manner. I think if it were written differently (without the whole future part and more about exploring the force rather than power) it could be worth it. Maybe if they made it more about Skywalkers and less about Anakin. Although he did bring balance. Until the ST. We dont talk about that. But thanks for sharing you def made me think about this more.

    image on the left is a photoshopped mashup of Hamill and Stan. In reality they look kinda similar but it's not half that close.

    my alternate hot take: there was no reason for the CGI Luke to be that bad. The Marvel movies did this better. YouTube deepfakers did this better. ILM with all their resources and their actual genius should have been able to do something better, especially since Mando is basically their most lucrative and beloved thing right now.

    I liked the Mortis episodes in CW. These episodes were strange of course, but we got some more perspective on the force. And, we saw Qui Gon talk to Anakin and Anakin view his own potential future. It really shows the balance of the force and why it is so necessary. When there is in balance, results are present

    Two things:
    1)If that one episode of Mando had had a Marvel movie budget the CGI would also be at Marvel movie level. (But that is quite an unreasonable bar to have for an episode of TV)
    2)The DeepFake vids on YouTube builds on the ILM groundword (they don't start from scratch), and they are (aparently -- I don't understand these things) calibrated for small computer screens and phones and would not stand up to overall TV level CGI in context. (The Resistance Broadcast recently had an interview with one of the CGI programmers WHO explained the context for this)
