I wonder if VIII forum will have more views/threads than VII...

I'm guessing yes. It seems like Episode VII really gave a major shot in the arm to the fandom, and a lot of people just discovering or rediscovering Star Wars with TFA will be fully into the fandom by the time Episode VIII comes around. Granted, I'm speaking partly from personal experience...

 

Some of us ( like me ) will pretty much avoid the VIII forums until December 15th, 2017.
In fact, as shooting begins and plot details inevitably begin to leak, my ilk and I shall begin to trickle out of the cantina altogether, only to trickle back in once VIII is out.

 

Hmmm... I'm not sure. If I had to guess I'd say probably not. Almost all the conversation for the past couple of years has been focused on TFA, so by almost necessity that's were people went. Now with R1 I think a lot of the upcoming conversations will live there, and divert away from VIII. In addition to conversations still swirling around VII itself.
I wouldn't be surprised in the least if VIII gets more attention, but I wouldn't want to put any money on it either.

 

I wish I could do that but I don't have the willpower. I refresh news net 2 or 3 times a day (haha).

Although it looks like Disney got their blast together in terms of preventing leaks... we know a lot less about Rogue 1 than we knew about TFA a year out.

I think the most we might get out of 8's filming production is perhaps shots of who might be where at certain locations... & probably infrequently.

I think the big difference you will see in pre-Episode 8 threads is you won't as many 'I worry about this and that....'

There were so many X factors leading up to TFA: Will the new characters resonate with the fans? Will it have the same problems like the PT? Will there be too much CGI? Is Disney an asset or a hindrance to the new Trilogy? etc...

For fans like me who didn't like the PT and enjoyed TFA, there aren't doubts anymore as now we can talk the nitty gritty of Episode 8.
