If Poe had been killed off as was the original intent, do you think Snap takes over as the pilot who makes the killshot to Starkiller?

He would have ruled over the new republic with Crackle and Pop.

I think that if Poe died, there would have been no Starkiller.

Starkiller was already there before TFA though.

you're saying that SKB wouldnt have been around if Poe died. to the best of my knowledge, his life had nothing to do with the base. The base itself was being built in secret beyond the known republic prior to TFA

In the script ... Starkiller base was brought to canon via TFA or did I miss something ?

They had to do something for Poe's skill as a pilot.

the canon is that they had BEEN building SKB before TFA (obviously): http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Starkiller_Base it was new but it was being built prior to th events of TFA. Poe IS a great pilot and im glad he wasn't killed but if he was, then SKB would never had been affected in itself and might have potentially still been around .

Wow. We have a real problem of understanding right there.

Where is the first mention of the Starkiller base ? In what movie ? Before TFA ? Did you know about it before watching the movie ?

What I say is that at the moment, they decided that Poe won't die at the start of the movie, they had to give him a space mission and then they imagined this giant base to be blown up by XWings not the story they made about it.

I was wondering the same thing... But I think it actually would have been Jessika Pava, since she's the focus of the prelude and epilogue of The Weapon Of A Jedi. Out-of-canon, though, Disney would likely be applauded for having a Space-Asian (and a woman) character strike the killing blow to the battle station over another white guy doing it - but since Poe Dameron is a Space-Latino character, and he already got a significant amount of focus in the movie's narrative instead of just being a side character, it's probably for the best that he was the one to do Starkiller Base in.

Yeah I understood what you said. I think AR is confused. You were talking about the script and story, not canon.

She did a great job in the movie as did Gunberg and the other pilots. I really felt like they all hit the right tone as pilots.

If Fin had good training he could've replaced Poe.

If Poe died we would have lost one hell of a pilot.
