SPECULATION If Rey is not a Skywalker/Solo/Kenobi, will she take one of their last names in honor of them?

    So if Rey turns out to be a comletely random character with no biological connections to any character we have seen so far, will she take one of their last names out of honor, respect, sense of family she was with them, I.e Skywalker or Solo? I think she will probably end up taking the Skywalker name (if she isn't already one)

    Edit: reason why I posted this in Episode VIII is because I think Rey will discover who she truly is in this film, but if a mod deems this off topic here feel free to move it.

    I really don't know what to say since Disney can make it anyone's guess. If this had been under Lucas, then I could assure you that he would have made sure that the Skywalker name continued it's legacy but seeing as how Disney seems to be throwing away many things that Lucas established in order to make SW it's own then anything is possible.

    And I don't think the answer will be given in Ep VIII.


    And it lacks the answer. Rey will take the name of her parents when she'll find out.

    i think she'll reject the name of her birth parents when she finds out who they are ~ and eventually adopt Skywalker...or marry into Solo.

    or both, which could give us Skywalker descendants with the Skywalker-Solo name for those who are picky about such things.

    at the end of the day i actually don't care, but either of these scenarios would be fine.

    If her parents are truly "unknown" meaning not important to the GFFA then her adopting a surname is possible; and if so Lucasfilm has a tough choice because Solo is just as iconic as Kenobi/Skywalker etc.

    I do hope she is Luke's kid, but if not, it would be terrible if the Skywalker name dies out with Luke. :(

    That always stuck me as something Finn would do instead of Rey, mostly because I always thought Rey's last name would be revealed at some point.

    Yeah, I don't know why, even though he hasn't met him yet, but feeling that too for some reason. Like he would be likely to adopt a last name I guess.

    Why would Rey chose Kenobi as a name, she doesn't have a clue of who he is ? Did she watch the OT ?
