The Force Awakens still just retains the edge for me in the "magic" terms for me. But I think time will tell on The Last Jedi. I'm sure it will soon be regarded more highly and by more people. Once all the supposed "course corrections/retcon/roll back" insanity that surrounds the ST runs out of steam.

    Happy New Year!

From the sequel trilogy I'd have,

    1. TFA - By far the best of the sequel trilogy, most like the OT and No 4 on my overall list.
    2. TROS - A good ending for this trilogy but not the entire saga, No 5 overall.
    3. TLJ - Worst of the sequel trilogy and worst of the entire saga, at the bottom of my overall list by some margin.

I just rewatched both TFA and TLJ over the holidays. Really enjoyed the rewatching actually. Even with my complaints I find myself wanting to rewatch TLJ more.

I have seen TROS twice and really loved it both times. Voted TROS.

1- TFA. Everything worked for me in this movie, characters, humor, action, nostalgia etc... i swear i could watch it in a loop forever. I remember having my head in the stars for days after seeing it the first time.
2- TLJ: Hated it at first for all the reasons that have been mentionned over and over. But in the 2 year break i have made peace with it and i've come to appreciate the cinematography, editing and characters arcs, and the whole ending sequence on crait is now one of my fovorite moment of ST.
3- TROS: i've seen it 3 times and it get better but i will need to watch it a lot more to appreciate it even more. Lots of ups and downs for me in regard to pacing, rushed feeling and inconsistency in the story. I know it's fantasy but jeez, you gotta say consistent!

But as a whole, i'm a fan of the new trilogy

As someone who enjoyed all three for different reasons, this is tough.

But I'm glad to see how close these three are in the poll, and how in the SWNN twitter poll (with a ton more responses) we saw basically the same thing.

Just goes to show- just because you don't like one of these films, doesn't mean it didn't really speak to someone else. So always remember to be kind, even in criticism.

It's difficult to say for sure since TROS is so new (and I've only seen it once), but nevertheless, that's the one I voted for.

I enjoyed all three films quite a bit.

TFA introduced us to a great new cast, and it's just an immensely fun film to watch, but can occasionally feel a little too reliant on "Hey, remember that cool thing from the original films? Well, here it is again!"

TLJ was a more interesting film than TFA, but I missed the camaraderie among the characters.

TROS struck that perfect balance of being interesting AND having great camaraderie among the leads. Overall, I think TFA and TLJ might be better constructed films from a technical standpoint, but TROS just struck a better balance for me in terms of what I enjoy.

Again, I've only seen TROS once, so it's entirely possible my opinion may shift over time. But anyway, I'm just glad that I enjoy all three, regardless of specific rankings.

Not sure I can really rank them right now until I've seen TROS a few more times.

    But I will say this:

I loved The Force Awakens when it came out, but I think it came down originally to it just being Star Wars again. For a while, I considered it to be a fun, but ultimately pretty shallow movie that included a handful of really amazing scenes (like the final duel). Having watched it again recently, I think I'm starting to come back around to it. We've all watched Star Wars movies for years and years, and we've started to get these weird attachments to side characters and even specific shots or quotes that have stuck with us through the ages. For me, I've finally got to that point with TFA- it's finally less of a novelty for me, and I've begun to appreciate it in its entirety (and even have some newfound appreciation for the scenes aboard Han's big new freighter with the mercs and rathtars). In fact, one of my original qualms with it (the fact that the Resistance seems really poorly fleshed out) doesn't really seem to bother me as much anymore. It used to feel like they didn't meet the Resistance until the final 30 minutes of the film, but really it's more like halfway, and there are a good handful of scenes set on the base in D'Qar that I really didn't give proper credit to.

The Last Jedi was a film that I enjoyed pretty well in theaters, but was immediately sick of by the time the discourse had a few weeks to set in. Yeah, some of y'all almost ruined this film for me. Since then, I have watched it several times, and... well, while I almost entirely disagree with "The Fandom Menace"'s critiques, there are parts of the movie that I take issue with. But it's also an incredibly well put together film.

At one point, I was holding out hope that Episode IX would bring some sort of meaning to the tragedies in TLJ. Now, I'm not entirely sure that's the case, and I think TROS is just as responsible to blame for that. But also, I think it might not be the right approach to think that the tragedies of TLJ aren't mostly resolved by the end of the movie. Outside of the obviously bad state of the war, the heroes have hope, and that's kind of the point.

Which all is basically a really long way of saying: "In retrospect, The Force Awakens is a lot more than a nostalgia trip and manages to set the stage pretty well, while The Last Jedi is a good film that puts meaning in Star Wars before fun (and maybe that's okay)."

So, I think it'll be a bit before I can really process TROS, but for now, I think it's quite obvious it's the opposite of TLJ, putting fun before meaning. And I think that's probably ok, too.

I’m gonna have to say TLJ. I feel like I must be crazy for liking this movie since so many people despise it so much. But I honestly feel that TLJ is a better conclusion to the complete saga then TROS. Luke’s character arch brought the story of the Jedi order full circle.

I don't know yet. I need to give TROS another shot. I didn't have a chance to see it more than once yet. And for reasons (BR Player died and no replacement set up yet) I didn't watch the other two for some time. Maybe Disney+ when it arrives in April gives me a chance to rewatch the ST and find out.

My favorite is The Rise of Skywalker. To me, it has a great mix of everything I love about Star Wars: action, humor, and awesome Force powers.

The three are 7 out of 10 movies to me. So, good but not great. If I was pressed to say which I preferred I'd say TLJ. Why? Because it was the one that at least tried to offer something new and fresh. At least in my eyes.

TFA was too safe and too similar to IV for my taste. ROS is a bit too quick, sad and not fulfilling enough as a closure to the saga.

My favorite moment from TFA is the scene with Kylo Ren and Han Solo.
My favorite moments of TLJ are the Holdo Maneuver (hyperspace ship ramming) and the entire Snoke throne room sequence.
My favorite moments of ROS are when Rey blasts the transport with rays and the Ben and Han Solo scene.

Did not expect TFA to get the least votes (as of when I write this). In some ways I still think it's the best movie out of the 3, even though my personal favorite is TLJ.

TFA for me,(mystery box JJ kept me captivated) it was a great start, but something went awry, TLJ then TRoS. I hope in 3 years we get a great Star Wars film. Kevin Feige don't fail me now!
