Imagine you have a high-ranking role at Disney post ROS and influence on the next steps. What would you consider for the future of the franchise?

    1. First Order to Execute would be....

    2. I would definitely Want to....

    3. I would definitely NOT want to...

    4. Pick a project you would pitch for a new trilogy (using established characters or brand new)

    5. Pick a project you would pitch for a Disney + show:

    6. Would you want to expand on The Mandalorian in some way? If yes-how so?

    7. Would you push to canonize any (or all) EU/Legends material? Y or N

    8. Hmm, this character seems like they have potential for a series or something else. Choose ANY character from any of the movies to consider for a spinoff show or film.

    9. While the internet is proof you can't please anyone, the advice you would give to your crew/team/writers (considering this particular franchise) is...

    10. Make a pitch for an original concept for a show or film that is StarWarsy but completely different and original from anything we've seen before...

    1. First Order to Execute would be....

    Huh?

    2. I would definitely Want to....

Thank George Lucas for selling Lucasfilm.

    3. I would definitely NOT want to...

    Make another film like Solo

    4. Pick a project you would pitch for a new trilogy (using established characters or brand new)

Brand new. China doesn't care about Skywalkers.

    5. Pick a project you would pitch for a Disney + show:

Disney+ is a good place for established fans. A Yoda show during the Republic would be cool.

    6. Would you want to expand on The Mandalorian in some way? If yes-how so?

No. Let it be it's own thing.

    7. Would you push to canonize any (or all) EU/Legends material? Y or N

Work in what they can like they've been doing. Luke didn't have kids so canonizing that would be silly.

    8. Hmm, this character seems like they have potential for a series or something else. Choose ANY character from any of the movies to consider for a spinoff show or film.

A Finn/Poe series would be great, but I doubt it's possible. Finn needs to be trained but I'd be stunned if the actors would want to be involved.

    9. While the internet is proof you can't please anyone, the advice you would give to your crew/team/writers (considering this particular franchise) is...

Go with your gut and work with Lucasfilm.

    10. Make a pitch for an original concept for a show or film that is StarWarsy but completely different and original from anything we've seen before...

During some unknown period a Jedi is cast out of the Order. His name tarnished and he becomes an outlaw chased by the Jedi Order. The true criminal is hidden the Jedi order.

    1. First Order to Execute would be.... make EU an alternate universe canon

    2. I would definitely Want to.... try to find different ways to embrace and respect a variety of fans, OT "purists" and Disney folk alike. I would want to try to find balance between enjoying the new trilogies and respecting the OT.

    3. I would definitely NOT want to... make too many SW projects at once in a quick cash grab. Now there would be time to think, process, and allow a sensible delay.

    4. Pick a project you would pitch for a new trilogy (using established characters or brand new)
I think this time it should be new characters, no major connection to OT characters but the connections can be woven in references to The Force, Empire, history, etc., Something different, but with that instant Star Wars vibe- perhaps a Cowboy Bebop meets Newt Scamander featuring a new character studies the biology and ecosystems of different worlds, but with a Mando-esque crew.

    5. Pick a project you would pitch for a Disney + show:
Wedge Antilles spinoff about his pilot days (Mando format) and Solo sequels in a similar format (short tv as opposed to movies)

    6. Would you want to expand on The Mandalorian in some way? If yes-how so? It's great as it is but could have potential for a movie series-in theaters or just on Disne+.

    7. Would you push to canonize any (or all) EU/Legends material? Y or N Yes. As alternate worlds in an attempt to unite the bickering fandoms. Instead of arguing over why/how movie X sucks, they could instead discuss which fandom they choose and why. Fans would then be free to enjoy movies as an alternative instead of disrupting their canon. It also opens up new avenues for EU characters and more $$$. Why not introduce Mara Jade, the Solo kids, etc. as alternate universe choices similar to many comic book favorites.

    8. Hmm, this character seems like they have potential for a series or something else. Choose ANY character from any of the movies to consider for a spinoff show or film.
Poe Dameron. The actor is still in his prime and could work well with his own story separate from the movies. I feel like Poe will end up doing something very different and un-force related.

Of course would want to see an Obi-Wan series or movies(if that happens).

    9. While the internet is proof you can't please anyone, the advice you would give to your crew/team/writers (considering this particular franchise) is... only a Sith deals in absolutes.

    10. Make a pitch for an original concept for a show or film that is StarWarsy but completely different and original from anything we've seen before...

The Cantina. Kind of like Cheers but with Star Wars. Focus is a new bartender at the Mos Eisley cantina where fans encounter familiar faces and aliens who have a story to tell. Would begin and end at the cantina , featuring different stories that are somehow woven together through an over-arching plot.

Animated series of alternate EU universe that provides fans with the Jedi Master Luke and OT trio reunion., Since it would be animated, it could happen, and maybe even explain how different timelines or universes can co-exist. (Spiderverse, Marvel, etc.) Why not? The sequel folk can still exist. Perhaps Rey and co. could even interact with EU/alternate characters.

    1. First Order to Execute would be.... Place Filoni and Favreau in charge of all future projects -- big and small screen. Give them the keys,

    2. I would definitely Want to.... Unite the fanbase.

    3. I would definitely NOT want to... Stay the current course with the theatrical releases.

    4. Pick a project you would pitch for a new trilogy (using established characters or brand new) ... Just spitballing an Ezra/Thrawn adventures trilogy. Time in the Unknown Regions, finding their way back, reconnecting with old pals. See my answer to No. 10.

    5. Pick a project you would pitch for a Disney + show: I'm not a huge fan of the Sequel Trilogy, but it has suddenly given Disney+ plenty of fuel. That said, I wouldn't mind filling in the gap between ROTJ and TFA.

    6. Would you want to expand on The Mandalorian in some way? If yes-how so? ... Sure. I'd love to see another season or two which could expound on characters/relationships we've been introduced to. Thoroughly enjoying it.

    7. Would you push to canonize any (or all) EU/Legends material? Y or N ... No, mainly because I wasn't a big EU guy. Props to those who were.

    8. Hmm, this character seems like they have potential for a series or something else. Choose ANY character from any of the movies to consider for a spinoff show or film. ... Hera Syndula doesn't apply, right? Rogue Squadron, maybe. Or a clone trooper unit war story. Just throwing darts here.

    9. While the internet is proof you can't please anyone, the advice you would give to your crew/team/writers (considering this particular franchise) is... "Explore new ground and do so respectfully."

    10. Make a pitch for an original concept for a show or film that is StarWarsy but completely different and original from anything we've seen before... Well part of the charm is seeing things that are conceptually StaWarsy, so it's tough to step outside. How about a tale about explorers in a GFFA, set many years prior to Yavin, who blazed a trail through hyperspace. Like the stories we've been told of European explorers in the New World back in the 1500-1600s. The characters in this would blaze a trail into then-unknown areas upon the discovery of hyperspace; hijinx ensue.

    1. First order to execute would be....
Acquire materials and hire fans to help produce a proper 4K restoration of the original theatrical trilogy along with other OT-era supplementary materials like documentaries and behind-the-scenes footage to be included in a huge box set.

    2. I would definitely want to....
Bring in the Lucasfilm Story Group much closer, provide a general theme focusing on extensive world-building and lore supplemented by engaging conflicts and interesting characters.

    3. I would definitely NOT want to...
Pander to any specific subsection of fans exclusively. I want my pandering to be equal for fans of everything.

    4. Pick a project you would pitch for a new trilogy (using established characters or brand new)
A straight 1:1 film adaption of Old Republic era stories, most notably KOTOR and its sequel.

    5. Pick a project you would pitch for a Disney+ show:
Tales From Mos Eisley: An anthological series focusing on the inhabitants of Mos Eisley and its infamous cantina. Sorta kinda base off the old novel.

    6. Would you want to expand on The Mandalorian in some way? If yes-how so?
Only in the sense of extending the show's run to whatever way Favreau and Filoni believe it should be.

    7. Would you push to canonize any (or all) EU/Legends material? Y or N

I would canonize most of the pre-established EU material, except anything that contradicts the nine films or the television shows.

    8. Hmm, this character seems like they have potential for a series or something else. Choose ANY character from any of the movies to consider for a spinoff show or film.
Han Solo, and by extension Chewbacca, in a 5-episode miniseries showcasing their life pre-TFA.

    9. While the internet is proof you can't please anyone, the advice you would give to your crew/team/writers (considering this particular franchise) is...

Do not focus on the past. Use it for inspiration but do not shift your story's focus exclusively on pre-established elements. The new is good.

    10. Make a pitch for an original concept for a show or film that is Star Warsy but completely different and original from anything we've seen before...

Very difficult but I would probably make something that took place in the extreme past, sort of like the Dawn of the Jedi comic before the Jedi and the Sith.

    1. First Order to Execute would be....

Distance all new content from the Skywalker saga. We want to preserve all previous works on the franchise that are new canon, and draw inspiration from them, but move on to telling stories about new heroes, new worlds, and new eras. There should be a heavy focus on world building and expansion of the universe.

    2. I would definitely Want to....

Begin a new era of Star Wars, producing several live-action TV series and movies. The new era would be 5,000 years later or more. All works that belong to the new era would be separate, but related to one another, perhaps featuring cameos of popular characters that may even be recurring cast of multiple series. These would be all new POV characters that the varies series follow. The overall story of the era should be fully planned out, eventually culminating with a new trilogy of episodic films.

    3. I would definitely NOT want to...

Continue rehashing stories that have already been told. It's time for new creative works that focus on original storytelling, not nostalgia for past films and known characters.

    4. Pick a project you would pitch for a new trilogy (using established characters or brand new)

See my previous answers. I propose introducing several new live-action TV series all taking place around the same time period, building up to new episodic films. At least one trilogy should be planned, but the new era might support consecutive trilogies.

    5. Pick a project you would pitch for a Disney + show:

    Sith Academy
    Starfighter Pilots: X-wing, Tie-Fighter, ect.
    Criminal Underground
    Jedi, Masters & Apprentices

    6. Would you want to expand on The Mandalorian in some way? If yes-how so?

Yes, Mandalorian is definitely my fav of all the new canon. Star Wars really works as live-action TV. I'd increase the runtime and episode count, expanding the scope quite a bit. Otherwise, I'd introduce entirely new series of various theme for Disney+ as mentioned above.

    7. Would you push to canonize any (or all) EU/Legends material? Y or N

Yes. Most of the Old Republic era stuff in regards to the first two KOTOR games, but not necessarily everything in SWTOR.

    8. Hmm, this character seems like they have potential for a series or something else. Choose ANY character from any of the movies to consider for a spinoff show or film.

I wouldn't do a spinoff featuring any character from the movies, but if I had to choose one,... Finn, I guess. He seems to be force-sensitive. I'd like to know more. Perhaps we get to see him become a Jedi? IDK I think new characters would be better.

    9. While the internet is proof you can't please anyone, the advice you would give to your crew/team/writers (considering this particular franchise) is...

Always stay as true as possible to what has come before and the fandom will generally appreciate it. Fans feel betrayed when new content breaks with pre-established canon and rules pertaining to how a fantasy universe works. I think there is a lot of valid criticism of the new canon out there mixed in with uncalled for vitriol. It's important to recognize the difference, yet respect everyone's opinion.

    10. Make a pitch for an original concept for a show or film that is StarWarsy but completely different and original from anything we've seen before...

I just barely shared some views on a recent reddit post regarding where I think the franchise should go. Here's a piece of that:

    Suggestions for live-action TV series:

Sith Academy The first series would introduce the new villains of the time by following various young Sith hopefuls, as they go through their training, overcoming(or not) various trials, all competing to be selected as Sith apprentices, eventually swearing loyalty to a master, and finally taking their place in larger Sith society, within in a fully realized Sith Empire. In this era, the Sith have long abandoned the rule of two, and thousands of Sith exist together, governing a new Sith Empire, much like the legends content of the Old Republic era seen in the KOTOR games. As for the Sith Academy itself, think a Harry Potter type of school, only much darker and evil as any Sith institution should be. The story follows and focuses on individual Sith students and their relationships, rivalries, and competition for dominance. They may even be encouraged to eliminate each other. In that way, it could be similar to a Hunger Games, only involving Sith hopefuls. There should be several leads, but one might be a young child, first introduced in the story as a Jedi youngling living within the main Jedi Temple of the time. She may fail in any manner of ways to take to the teachings of the Jedi, accidentally kill a master, or something, and run away. Eventually, she learns of the existence of the Sith, and their hidden Empire in the unknown regions, somehow escaping there and joining the Sith Academy. The purpose of following this character first would be to show the audience the state of the larger galaxy, it’s relation to the Sith Empire, and feature at least one character with relation to jedi youngling peers, who might also show up in later series as competing heroes.

Starfighter Pilots: X-wing, Tie-Fighter, ect. The idea I’d propose next is pretty straightforward. An entire series focused on the lives of X-Wing pilots(or whatever starfighters) of the New Republic. Probably a full squadron, featuring various leads, following their lives before and after their joining New Republic forces. The setting should be the New Republic, as the previous series explores new Sith society, but it could be otherwise. In any case, similarly, the series would follow the individual pilots, their lives, relationships, and challenges. Where on the timeline this series would take place might be important as stories following a starfighter squadron are probably best told in a galactic war setting..

Criminal Underground My third series idea is one following characters involved in the criminal underground of the galaxy. That’d be smugglers, bounty hunters, crimelords, ect. It could feature rival gangs and any manner of scum and villainy. Much like in a series focused entirely on Sith or pilots, there would be much potential for interesting story and world building, allowing for audiences to see the larger Star Wars galaxy in exciting new ways. It might feature the underbelly of known Star Wars worlds such as Crusucant or Nar Shaddaa, as well as new planets.

Jedi, Masters & Apprentices Finally, I’d suggest we introduce a series focusing on the Jedi of the era. The Jedi Order should be fully reestablished, and the setting should be the main Jedi Temple, perhaps on Tatooine. The Jedi Order may be fully integrated into the New Republic government on core worlds or not. The series begins as young Jedi, first introduced as younglings in the Sith Academy series, are deemed ready and chosen to become padawan learners under a master. The story could follow the various couples, masters and apprentices, as they go on various missions, and experience ordeals. The focus of the story would be on the relationship between Jedi masters and their apprentices most of all, teachings and training, but also on their doings in the galaxy.

So, those are examples of themes for TV series. There may be any number of live-action TV series, but those four I thought best to do. Characters from one series might have cameos in another, or be recurring cast in multiple. These series will all feature young heroes around the same age. In this manner, we’d follow the lives of these young people, heroes and villains, who might play greater roles in later events as they age up. Since it’s Star Wars stories, I think it’d only be appropriate if war eventually breaks out. The Sith Empire of the time comes out of hiding in the unknown regions and invades the New Republic, triggering the new galactic war. At the start of galactic war would probably be the most appropriate time to move from TV only content to live-action movies as well, telling an ongoing and epic story, leading to a final conclusion of the important events of the era. I’d recommend the films follow the trilogy formula, taking on roman numerals, like the Skywalker saga, but starting from Episode 1. In any case, the important matter is to tell a complete story in this timeline on a scale greater than ever done before within the Star Wars universe.

If you like any of the ideas laid out here, please upvote my original post A blueprint for future Star Wars on /r/starwars reddit and help share the ideas. Feedback welcome. It's quickly falling off the new and rising board, and could use some love. Here's a link to full post:

    I would do the following:
    • Create departments who's functions overlap so there would be conflict and I would choose the best one
    • Adopt a more hands on approach to creative control
Introduce a live action First Order tv series with an emphasis on military tactics instead of relying on mystical elements. Have there be the ruthless, the sadistic and abominable but also the heroic and honourable. The equivalent of fine men like General Student and Joachim Peiper who just happened to be on the 'wrong side' of history.

Intellectuals and frustrated politicians who find the interests of their people are not being represented and the state serving finance rather than finance serving the state. And people still suffering from the economic and social cost of the Galactic Civil War.

An example of a real event is the Great Famine of 1921 which ravaged Russia in the immediate aftermath of a devastating Civil War which led to the deaths of millions and heaped misery on an already beleaguered people.

Bolshevik policies only exacerbated the disaster. Most peasants prepared for crop failures by storing a year’s grain in reserve – but Russian granaries were empty, drained by years of low yields and the constant requisitioning of war communism.

As the famine worsened, thousands of Russian peasants fled the countryside to the cities, seeking employment in the factories and hoping for better access to food. They found the situation no better. Foreign aid workers arriving in 1921 found the streets of Moscow and Kiev littered with dozens of corpses and others near death from starvation.

    Source: https://alphahistory.com/russianrevolution/great-famine-of-1921/

Young men and women driven to by the need to protect their homeland from the depredations of criminal enterprises, escape poverty, reclaim the honour of their ancestors and overthrow a corrupt and moribund government. To them, fascism is the only viable option.

It might sound distasteful to those leftists but it is important to humanise them and allow us to realise that they are not so different. Myself, I am not picky who's company I keep as long as they can dance.

A space pirate series, an equivalent of Space Pirate Captain Harlock would be awesome.

Bit of a tangent but here are some JoJo versions of Disney Villain songs.

Probably just wishful thinking but I hear he will become president of Lucas arts after Kennedy gets the boot sometime between now and spring.

Kennedy has "been getting the boot" since 2017. In fact I have it on good authority* that she was fired before she even got hired.

*No I don't, but I can make blast up too.

Lucas' ideas with Star Wars...weren't always congruent with what fans historically have wanted, and he's changed his mind A LOT. Where there three trilogies or four? In 2017-2018 there were reports about how Star Wars would go into the symbiotic relationship between the midichlorians and force users, but now reports of Maul having an apprentice are coming out (which, to be fair, I have no problem with).

People complain about how the ST didn't follow Lucas' outline, but then forget that Luke from TLJ is the same Luke from the outline; and Rey's character came from the outline too.

And let's not forget that Lucas handpicked Kennedy. So any problems you have with her also reflect back on Lucas.

I'm not saying that Disney is perfect. Far from it. Nor am I saying that Lucas' shouldn't have control of Lucasfilm back or that him changing his mind is bad - not at all. I just think that in the one-in-a-million chance it did happen, Star Wars wouldn't automatically improve, and I highly doubt they'd retcon the ST movies. Lucas works best when he's not entirely in control or is at least challenged on his ideas, like in The Clone Wars; Kennedy would probably work better if she had a vision of where she wanted the company to go, IMO. (And Filoni works best when he's collaborating, like in The Mandalorian and The Clone Wars.)

Well that is a good opinion but I think you forgot one thing Lucas is now married in his first marriage his wife was a woman who spoke her mind and when Lucas made a bad scene while he was making the the original trilogy or wrote something stupid in the script she would tell him how awful the scene was and tell him to change it and he would. The instances weren't to often but they did happen. As you probably know they divorced in 1983. During the prequels nobody chalanged him because he was the guy with the big bag full of money. So now that he is married to the former chairwoman of the board of DreamWorks star wars may be in good hands after all and we may get lightning striking in a bottle twice.

    1. First Order to Execute would be: Move away from just filling in the Gaps between the saga films. Make sure there is the correct balance between galaxy-spanning adventures and small scale stories. Go through every project that has been announced and make sure it has been thoroughly developed and not just rushed out to make announcemnets. I'd probably scarp the Taika Waititi, I just don't want wacky/spoof comedy Star Wars, I don't think it would be a good idea for the franchise long term.

    2. I would definitely Want to: Ensure there are more stories about trained force users.

    3. I would definitely NOT want to: Release a load of projects just to fill a slate.

    4. Pick a project you would pitch for a new trilogy (using established characters or brand new): Knights of The Old Republic

    5. Pick a project you would pitch for a Disney + show: Darth Bane

    6. Would you want to expand on The Mandalorian in some way? If yes-how so?. I would keep the planned Ahsoka story in the same time period. I would scrap Rangers of the new republic, its too similar to other projects we have.

    7. Would you push to canonize any (or all) EU/Legends material? YES & Know, I wouldn't canonise the Legends books, but I would rework the ideas and characters into the new canon. We have 40 years of cool stories and some awful ones, why wouldn't you rework some of the best ones?

    8. Hmm, this character seems like they have the potential for a series or something else. Choose ANY character from any of the movies to consider for a spinoff show or film: If I had to choose 1 it would be Quira, but to be honest, I would avoid spin-off shows and films for a while.

    9. While the internet is proof you can't please anyone, the advice you would give to your crew/team/writers (considering this particular franchise) is: Story First. Make sure you have a good story. Make the projects that have the best story ideas. Don't just set a release date and then figure out what to do with it later, or hire the latest big-name director to come up with a story.

    10. Make a pitch for an original concept for a show or film that is StarWarsy but completely different and original from anything we've seen before: "Orgins of The Jedi" A story about how the Jedi formed, how they split with the Sith and the first war between the 2 sides.

Adapt the Darth Bane trilogy, KOTOR, put more focus on making good games.
