If I had it my way, the Emperor of the empire would be one of the admirals appointed to the position.... Preferably Grand Admiral Thrawn :| and honestly, not because I have a particular love for the character but just because he is a visually memorable character.

A Reeve is an old title that is like a sheriff. Reeve sounds good.
A Summoner is someone that apprehends individuals who are commanded to present themselves in court. Summoner sounds good.
A Factor is someone that acts or transacts business for another. Factor sounds good.
    Justicar? Mage?

If you use Reeve then people will just be confused why "Reaver" wasnt used instead (and if you use Reaver firefly fans will melt out of the woodwork like freaking terminators and annoy evryone calling it ripoffs)

"The people who are now in control of the crippled empire or just work for them don't consider themself as evil". I think this will prove itself 100% true when TFA starts screening.
Judging by the recent leaks/rumors we've been hearing about, I think the third trilogy will have a very grey-ish aspect to it. No more bad guys vs. good guys, no more light vs. dark (no matter what we can hear is the teaser). Good people will be in the empire fighting corrupt "republicans"/rebels in power. In the Expanded Universe–I know it doesn't exist anymore but hey–Han Solo did start as an imperial Tie Fighter pilot. I hope we'll get this kind of scenario in Ep.VII, VIII and IX: a respectable man fighting for what he believes is the best.

    !!Spoiler!!

With the recent rumor that the "New Republic" is building a super weapon and that Domhnall Gleeson could have left the rebellion in order to join the empire, I think that the whole political scene will be upside down in this new trilogy: corrupt rebels/politicians, powerful elite... The roles would have been switched, the Imperials and what is left of them would be the new rebels fighting against a regime they consider unlawful. Perhaps they too would feel the need to construct a super weapon in order to bring balance to the conflict (once again. Cold War style–> "you shoot, I shoot; I die, you die with me").

I like Inquisitor. It is already established in Star Wars canon so it will be recongnizable. Also, in medieval times, Inquisitors did evil things but they were doing them because they percieved there cause of defending the church just and right. Although they did bad things, they were not necessarily evil persay. Whether the "new" Empire is good, bad, or in between having Inquisitors hunting down jedi and force senistives will work if they have in there beliefs what they perceive a just cause, just as the medieval inquisitors did

It would be strange if they didn't have some connection to a new Sith power. Force-sensitive Inquisitors simply hunting other Force-users would then have to eliminate themselves if the goal is simply to rid the galaxy of people with a connection to the Force.

I think there is room for the Chrome Troopers to be Imperial Knights. Though inquisitor is a canonical and recognized term.

I agree that knights should be reserved for Jedi. Though I think Templar or Templari would summon the right feel for what they wanted with "Imperial Knight."

That's what everyone says before the thumb screws.

Inquisitors sound good but it sounds positively sinister when you say Imperial Inquisition!!!!

    "NOBODY SUSPECTS THE IMPERIAL INQUISITION!!!!"
