OK, as they are scanning the Imperial Project codenames with data in storage at Scarif, this is what they find.....are any of these covered anywhere else in books, etc?

    - Stellar Sphere
    - Mark (or Mach?) Omega
    - Pax Aurora
    - War Mantle
    - Cluster Prism
    - Black Sabre
    ....and of course.....
    - Stardust

Not that I'm aware of. Black Sabre in particular piques my interest. I would imagine that the Story Group will delve into some of them at some point down the road though.

It's Mark Omega, you were right the first time.

And Admiral Petty is right, so far there is nothing. I'd like to know what they were, but I am not sure I want another super weapon in Star Wars. Three balls of death are enough, right? :D

    In the novel Catalyst,

Galen Erso nicknames his daughter Jyn "Stardust"

(I'm guessing he gave the file this name hoping she would find it.)

That's the only one I recognize immediately, though. Hope this helps! ;)

I thought I heard something about Project Black Sabre....so I googled and here is what I found....very very interesting....

"The concept of the Black-Saber Project was originally created by members of the Tarkin Initiative, based on the plans of the Death Star along with prototype forms of the Death Star's primary firing system. The naming of this project resulted from the shape resembling that of the Lightsaber, the traditional weapon of the Jedi Knights, so the Tarkin Initiative christened the creation the Black-Saber. The idea behind the creation of the Black-Saber Project was should the Death Star's power prove as destructive as Palpatine hoped, then the Empire would be able to create dreadnoughts capable of replicating the same form of destructive power as the Death Star was able to produce, of which could be spread among several ships rather than one massive station. The plans of the still in early development Black-Saber Project were stored within the Imperial data vault on Scarif. The destruction of the data vault resulted in the loss of the data tape holding the plans necessary to construct the weapon, thus putting a hold to this potential project along with several other projects."

    @CloneTrooper95
in the French dubbed version of Rogue1, Galen often calls his daughter "Nébuleuse" (= nebula), that will help Jyn finding the good disc in the Scarif tower. Isn't it the same in the original version of the film?

Notice how they have no source in the article? I'll take it with the grain of salt. :)

I just got around to reading it. It refers to Legends material. So definitely not Canon. I remember reading the book it is referencing.

Yes, they call themselves Star Wars Canon, but they are mixing a lot of Legends in it - what they feel would become canon, but those are just their predictions. Wookieepedia is the only fan made page that you can really rely on - they divide canon and Legends, list sources and tell you if article is incomplete or if it will be updated soon.

    The Tarkin Initiative is Legends.

Not the only one, dear Lady. There is at least one more - but it is french. Its name is AnakinWorld where they also split the articles between Legends and Canon - I don't give the link to avoid "ad for another forum" problems ;)

Sounds an awful lot like the superweapon in the old EU novel, Darksaber.

I remember when I read that book I thought to myself...Self, would that have not made more sense in the beginning than building a huge ball full of unnecessary compartments and a garbage shoot?

Did you also say "Self, how about for the 2nd huge ball we build, we make sure it has a millenium falcon-shaped hole to the reactor core?

No mistake ;) I was just wondering why the spoiler...

I always thought the 1st DS was constructed and intended to become an actual weapon, meant to be really used, proof is it shot once on Alderaan, was about to shot twice on Yavin 4 before being destroyed, and since Rogue1, we also know it formerly had shot twice on Jeddha. No doubt, it is a true functional weapon.
While the 2nd DS was just a bait, a lure, it never was a genuine weapon nor intended to become truly functional : it was just a trap, set up by the Emperor to attract the Rebel Alliance and destroy them.
    Am I mistaken ?

    Yes. ;)

The fact that it seemed unfinished was a trap, but the weapon was fully capable and prepared for murder.
