    According to the Lego Star Wars TFA video game, the Starkiller Base is "based on old Imperial Research." I was tempted to say that one of those projects could be an early version of SKB, but there are admittedly two problems with this:
    -The game may not be canon
    -The files got nuked, so there would have to be another copy somewhere
