"Holy scripture"? Jesus...they're just dumb movies. I don't know if you've notice, but we're on the Internet were it's pretty difficult to judge tone of a message.

Dumb movies perhaps if you have a dumb mind. To me Star Wars is the sole flag-bearer of spiritual themes in the mainstream media, in a world that seeks to abolish it and replace it with an overall system of turning human beings into soulless robots with no purpose but to work, consume, "have fun" (on the weekends when you are allowed!) and die (Similar to what Lucas was getting at in THX-1138).

George Lucas has provided countless millions with that spark of the metaphysical that is innate within all of us but sadly lacking in any other area of society in the West.

Beyond that the emphasis on rebellion against tyranny, and how democracy can become tyranny without the general public's awareness.

So dumb for you perhaps, but for me the largest fictional Universe ever created, with brilliant positive messages that are sorely needed and lacking in our messed up society we live in right now.

    @SYNCHRONIC :
please keep your arguments to "the largest fictional Universe with brilliant positive messages".
and leave the politics and religion out of it.

Is there a point you are getting at? You don't agree with my assessment of the importance of Star Wars and it's messages? Or just don't have anything of substance to say?

A “fact” is something that is provably true. Baselessly stating your vision is truer to Lucas’s than the guy Lucas picked himself is nothing but an unsubstantiated claim.
Ask yourself this question: hypothetically, if it were revealed that Lucas was directly involved with Filoni in developing this story point, would you change your position? Would it make it OK if George gave his ‘blessing’ or would you double down and then claim to know Star Wars better than George Lucas? Just a fun mental exercise.
I imagine George would be well beyond mortified hearing someone describe his movies as “holy scripture”. Who gets to decide what the “true core” is and when something conflicts with it? What makes you right and someone else wrong?
How else should your wording be taken if not literally? Is this elaborate sarcasm? A satirical musing on our society’s misguided fanaticism over pop-cultural frivolity?

    Folks, simmer down.

@SYNCHRONIC, I would point out that Filoni learned his art (and Star Wars Cosmology) directly at George Lucas's feet. Just something to keep in mind.

The fact that they had to go back to their own time periods tells me that this place is a way of transcending time, but not traveling through it.

One other thought, the Wolves aren't the first species we've seen with Hyperspace Capability. Also, they were the element in the Mural that created the portal........

Theory: Somewhere or other, there's a mural with the Mortis Family and Purrgils, and in that Mural, the Purrgils open the portal. Maybe it's in the vicinity of Kessel/the Maw. Maybe Purrgils are those tentacles that the Falcon has to dodge in the new Solo Trailer. Alternatively, the Purrgil Mural could be wherever their origin point is, and that's also where Thrawn and Ezra are.

Yeah a fact is true, and the fact is that I would not deviate from the original vision and lore of Star Wars (as established in George Lucas' 6 films). Many things in Star Wars Rebels go against what is believable in that original vision. If you don't believe me that is your prerogative, but it is a fact in my mind, which as the person who stated it, takes precedence. As you can't read my mind so cannot try to insinuate it is untrue.

George Lucas has stated many times in interviews that he is heart warmed by the fact that many children have gotten real deep, even life changing meaning (I know I have) from his films, and that was his entire intention with the franchise, to bring the essence of the multitude of spiritual systems since time immemorial into a form and medium that can be accessed by the masses.

Please if you are going to try and counter me, at least counter the entire point and not cherry pick a few words and consider that a counter.... You obviously have some attitude problem, because you are arguing against me as a person rather than the issues I brought up in my comment.

I've just finished watching the last two episodes now, and the prior two literally have no context in the whole series, apart from bringing Asohka back to life which is absurdly pointless (just to give Filoni an ego boost, he said himself he wants Asohka to be considered a "main character" in the recent interview from Collider Video with Kristian Harloff). Space wales saving the day.... Oh Lord.... the Lucasfilm Story Group needs to get their act into gear or get given some actual control over what makes it an d doesn't make it into Canon.

I thought creating a new Canon from scratch in 2014 meant a cohesive and believable Star Wars universe through all mediums, but between time travel, talking hyperspace travelling wolves, space wales coming and saving the day, Mon Calamari Grevious Cyborg with 4 sabers thing fighting Vader, Gothic Vampire creatures etc... they have made it more wacky and ridiculous than even the old EU (which I thought was crazy and nonsensical of course). They haven't got the right minds in charge of this property at all... what on Earth are they all smoking?

Well, if we've learned anything of importance it's this... Kanan has some strong genes. I thought this was interesting, because with the other Twi'lek/Human hybrids we saw in The Clone Wars, the Twi'lek traits seem to be dominant:

But with Jacen, it would appear that the human physical traits took precedence:

    Hera and Jacen.jpg

He has hair and ears instead of Lekku, and from what I can tell, his skin seems to be a human shade (though I admit to being color blind, so forgive me if I'm wrong). From what I remember from this brief scene, his teeth also look flat instead of sharp like a typical male Twi'lek.

Thematically, it makes sense that he looks like a spitting image of his father, but I just thought the biology of it all was interesting. Of course, in the real world we find similar occurences when people of different ethnic backgrounds procreate. Sometimes, you never know what the child will look like, and even siblings of ethnically diverse parents can look very different from one another. Anyways...

No doubt. Are we sure the Lucky Charms guy isn't the father? :p

Seriously though, I'm sure it was partly done to demonstrate that Kanan was in fact the father. Obviously Hera's the mother, so the Twi'lek aspect didn't need to be emphasized as badly.

And yeah, skin seems to be far more of a human shade. In fact, other than the hair (which, if Sabine is any reference, can obviously be dyed), he looks downright human.

The green hair is probably natural I'm assuming - to link him physically in some visible way to his mother as well. Without the hair, you would never guess that he wasn't 100% human.

Right, that's my guess. Unless Autie Sabine got to the kid when Hera wasn't looking.

I'm just saying that he's definitely passable as a human.

    So... around 1'30''

"when you'll get back, come and find me"

Now... Ashoka doesn't show up on Lothal during the liberation of the planet.
She showes up only after the Battle of Endor, to take Sabin with her and go and find Ezra.

But not only: during all the last 2 episodes, Ezra always knows what's going to happen...
    he foresees events....

I think it's possible that something happened off screen in the previous episodes.
That he and Ashoka "learnt/saw" something.

Not only the events of the liberation of Lothal, something more, and connected to the
Emperor interest about the Lothal Jedi Temple (and not only, as we know)...
And that whatever it is, it's what "Ezra is really supposed to do".
It's not the liberation of his homeplanet.
Or not only. I think it's also if not mainly what he has to do next...

He knows he has to disappear or more precisaly to go somewhere.
And I don't think it's unlikely.... that he knows he has to go into the Unknown Regions.
    Same for Ashoka.

They have to meet there right after the Battle of Endor = after the contingency plan takes place.

I really think there's the chance Filoni connected it all.

    EDIT:
In addition, I haven't read the Thrawn novels, but as far as I know... Thrawn knows about a
threat in the Unknown Regions too.
And just at the beginnig of the first one of the last two episodes, Ezra decides that the time
has come, because Thrawn is coming back. So sure it has to do with the liberation of Lothal.
But there could be a double meaning.... maybe, Ezra knows that he has to go wherever he's going
    with Thrawn...

I would argue against their having no context on the following grounds:
    1. At the beginning of Season 2, as has been pointed out, there was foreshadowing on the Emperor's interest on the planet that has only been vindicated by this episode:

    2. Not necessarily related to this series, but they tied this up in the lore of the Mortis Gods introduced in Clone Wars. If you watched any of the behind the scenes videos for those episodes, that was all straight from Lucas to Filoni.

In the mean time I can appreciate your passion for Star Wars. It's philosophy can inspire us, and it's great for families. However, believability has never been one of its hallmarks. It's never had a firm root in science. Spirituality for sure. Philosophy certainly. But Reality????? not so much.

I absolutely agree. Ezra seems to have a lot of uncanny knowledge that he's using. He saw "Multiple Paths" ahead. He seems to be counting on Sabine to be the one to find him. Granted, they're close, but perhaps her artistic expertise is necessary, since she can actually understand Mortis Paintings. Having an art connoisseur like Thrawn involved as well leads me to think we'll be seeing more of this stuff.

I'd say a lot was done to seed for future stuff, and a lot of that was implied or inferred by Ezra. He's seen more than we're aware of.

Jacen Syndulla's ears are shaded a light green. His eye brows are green. Hera was electrically tortured while pregnant. Perhaps his father's force strong DNA helped him survive in the womb and took more of the human features verses Twi'lek. I'm thinking his conception must have happened either on Yavin base or when they went back to Lothal and the kids (Zeb, Ezra, and Sabine) were on their Tie Defender recon mission. Kanan and Hera did have time to themselves then. It makes you wonder if Jacen becomes one Luke's students or he becomes Ezra's padawan (once Ezra is found by Ahsoka and Sabine). I am curious as to what the next animated show will be.

That's a really good observation. And honestly, it's not too hard to believe. In the World Between Worlds, it's made pretty clear that the past, present, and future are all connected. We see the present (it's where Ezra comes from, and obviously the past, but aside from the voices do we hear anything in the future?

I can't help but think that you're right, and that Ezra knew much of what was going to happen. It explains quite a bit, actually.

How can the universe grow if you don’t expand it though? George continuously added to the lore with each successive movie, broadening and tweaking it with each iteration. This galaxy wasn’t etched into stone tablets atop a mountain by the finger of God, it’s an ever evolving creature that’s developed bit by bit. Now it’s being developed further by someone who had the creator’s ear for years. I get it if you think what they’re doing is dumb. I’m not in love with everything this show has done, but only one guy in this whole world gets to decide what is or isn’t true to Star Wars, and he hasn’t shot this down yet to my knowledge.
I felt many things that came out of the prequels went against what was believable in the OT vision. The Force makes babies now? That’s stupid, but I guess it’s canon. So be it.
And it’s a fact in some people’s minds that the world is flat. An unprovable “fact” is not a fact at all. I don’t have any interest in dispelling whatever personal truths you have in your heart and mind. Hold on to those and cherish them. May they provide you comfort.
I don’t have any interest in arguing with you. This is a discussion in my mind. You professed a position in an open forum and I’m challenging you to defend it. There’s no reason to take it as hostility and be defensive. How are the elements that Filoni has introduced in Rebels so wildly out of concert and contradictory to what Lucas established before this?
Ahsoka was never dead, so she wasn’t brought back to life. Filoni certainly never had any intention of killing off his pet character. It was a hand wavy way to write her off the show in order to bring her back later. You can call it a cheap trick if you like, but it did have a point.
Yeah, pretty dumb. Not a whole lot worse than seeing the cartoon frog-rabbit Gungans lob giant marbles at tin soldiers at the end of TPM though.
This was way worse than the ridiculous Grievous character himself? I feel this is more a matter of taste rather than anything else.

I love this theory, don't get me wrong. However, for a series finale, it left more questions then it answers. I'm fully aware that this isn't the final show. I feel like the Star Wars Resistance leak may even involve Ezra, Ashoka and Sabine. The most important question that they do answer though is why Ezra and Ashoka are not in the OT.
