    Revenge of the Jedi was changed to Return of the Jedi when George Lucas heard that the upcoming Star Trek sequel was titled The Vengeance of Kahn. It was subsequently changed to The Wrath of Kahn but GL thought return worked better being that it was more in line with the what the Jedi were about, and that the film was ultimately about redemption not revenge.
